Rafael A. Tanjuatco
Mayor of Tanay, Rizal
Municipality of Tanay
M. H. Del Pilar Street
Tanay, Rizal

Dear Mr. Tanjuatco

I hope this gets you well. I am Charles Junjie A. Mempin, a student from Mapua University. I live here in
Tanay, Rizal, while I am taking my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science online and studying Science,
Technology, and Society. Science, technology, and society is a fascinating subject as it explores how
science and technology affect our society.

The province of Tanay continues to grow as time passes. More people come to live in the region or come
to visit. Naturally, the municipality tries to make the province comfortable as much as possible. Although
at night, a few places look unwelcoming to people as there are no lights, or they might not be lights at
all. Those places lack light because it might be a site that is hard to place lamp posts, or the electrical
wires used in the town cannot reach the place. My point is that light posts in this town are costly and
impractical. Lamp posts aren’t just there to give light in the dark but to make people feel safe walking in
the dark.

This is where solar-powered lamp posts come in. Solar-powered lamp posts are an excellent investment
for the municipality because they produce less electricity. This town has a complicated line of electricity
you would see in the streets, and our lamp posts now add up to those mixed-up lines. Solar-powered
lamp posts wouldn’t need to be connected to electricity as it takes their power from solar energy.
Having solar-powered lamp posts would lessen the amount the municipality pays for electricity. Having
these lamp posts would allow the town to place lamp posts in places where it had to connect electricity
with, or it could add lighter for people walking around town at night.

Having this kind of lamp posts would drastically improve the safety and security of the province. Power
Production Management, Inc. believes solar systems are a worthwhile investment and long-term cost-
effective. Although solar-powered lamp posts may cost much more, they would still be a good
investment as they would lessen the money used on electricity. Solar-powered lamps help give light to
places that can’t be placed with average posts, and solar-powered lamp posts also draw their power
from renewable energy from the sun. This is a good investment because it would lessen the cost of
electricity. Having solar-powered lamp posts in places where average lamp posts cannot be placed will
also improve the town's security as the people will feel much more comfortable walking around at night
because they can see their surroundings.
In conclusion, solar-powered lamp posts are an excellent investment for the town because they use
renewable energy, improve security, and it would lessen costs. Having solar-powered lamp posts would
greatly benefit the city financially. It would enhance the safety and comfort of residents and tourists. It
would use renewable energy and save money.

Sincerely,

Charles Junjie A. Mempin
