Assalamualaikum wbt to our respectful jury, dear teacher’s and noble student.

My presence on this
beautiful morning is to deliver a speech entitle “freedom”. Freedom, what is freedom? Can you
touch it? Can you feel it? Freedom is something that you cannot touch but you can feel. Freedom
doesn’t just come regularly. A lot of sacrifice must be made in order to obtain freedom. Now, lets
talk about Malaysia.

On 31 august 1957, Malaysia officially declare freedom upon its country. Or as we know it, the
“Independence Day”. A lot of sacrifice has been made in order to gain this title. Such as some
Malaysian have to pay mortgage or even spend their live saving just to go to London to negotiate
independence. And in the end, it was all worth it. But even though we already declare freedom upon
our country. Let me ask you this. Are we actually free? Did the Malaysian really rule over the whole
country? It sad to say but no, we are not free. Why are we not free. Haven’t we sign the paper. The
truth is freedom does not come from what is written on a piece of paper but freedom comes from
what the naked eye can see. And what do we see now. The majority of the Malaysian cabinet, the
Malaysian politics, the Malaysian marketing system are all own by non-pier Malaysian. Why?
Because the patriotic spirit among the teenagers this day started to fade away. Except the militaries.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Lets us all thank the Malaysian militaries. Without them I would not have eat them same food I
would not have breath the same air as you I would not even have the opportunity to be here and
talking to you. A bullet to the knee, a sharp knife on your chest and the sacrifice that your friend in
order to protect you from losing a heartbeat. Those are the thing that the military faces upon
combat on the battle arena. It breaks my heart just to even say those things but this what the
military willingly do to obtain freedom for the country.

Friends and folks,

Let us not forget our ancestor. I believe we all knows those legendary heroes such as Dol said, mat
Jenin or even Tok Janggut. Blood dripping, children crying, love ones dying. This is what the old
Malaysian faces every single day, every single every single hour, every single second. Starting from
the sun rise to sunset. But let me tell you this, to be honest with you the old Malaysian, those are
the real ones. Just imagine hundred men with tiny sword vs hundred army. Who would won, well if
you ask me. Obviously the hundred army.NO. the hundred men won. Why and how. Look at us now.
We all in piece. Because our ancestor never gives up on fighting those outsiders

Respectful juries,

Modern military, old warrior, the prime minister, the king, the queen, the sultan. Even though does
are the people who gave us freedom but in the end the one who chose to keep the freedom is us,
the people. Mat Jenin, Dol said, Tok Janggut. Those are not train military, those are just some regular
people, some random people. But how did they manage to obtain freedom. Why? Because they
choose to not live in poverty, they chose to not live in fear, they choose to live freely. And they
choose to safe the future generation from the sad reality that they live on. Despite only know Silat. If
you don’t know what Silat is, Silat is basically a traditional martial art. Despite only know Silat, with
the fire in their heart, they manage to obtain freedom for their country.

Before I end my speech, I would like to share with you a quote. A wise man once said “Not all heroes
wears a cape” farmers, gardeners, police, teachers, student even pedestrians. Are all heroes. I’m a
here. You are hero. We are all heroes. And together we can make Malaysia great again.
