    DESCRIPTION :. During blasting & painting activity at HIPPS station, mobile compressor was used for blasting activity and compressor earthing
    was connected to insulated chain link fence net (Hot work permit 167976)

    Actual / Potential Consequences


    • Actual consequences - High
    • Mitigated potential consequences – High (Fault in Grounding directly impacts human safety. Major accidents happen due to improper
    Earthing. Leakage of current passes through human body and fatality occurs.

    Immediate Actions
    • Job stopped immediately, Proper earthing was provided to ground and job resumed.

    Lesson learned.
    ➢ Equipment shall be earthed in proper manner
    ➢ Appropriate earthing rod (Good Conductor) to be used
    ➢ Air compressor to be inspected daily and checklist to be attached along with permit
