REFLECTION ON VIKTOR FRANKL’S MEANING OF LIFE

The meaning of life according to Viktor Frankl lies in finding a purpose and taking responsibility for
ourselves and other human beings. By having a clear “why” we can face all the “how” questions of
life.

Life has different meanings but based on Frankl’s meaning, it is about searching for

reasons why we are living in this world, why we have to fight bravely for all the challenges

and problems in life that we may encounter along the way.

For me, finding a purpose in life is through embracing all the things that life can offer.

We cannot find our strength and weaknesses if we keep on running from the challenges and

problems that will come to our lives. If I relate and reflect it to my life as a college student, it

is very fulfilling accepting the ups and downs that I am experiencing this year. Being

responsible of all the tasks given and accepting what is not for us and ours do matter.

The meaning of life is not just taking care of ourselves and embracing the

responsibility as a son, daughter, mother, father and co- workers, etc. but to have the sense of

sensibility and responsibility towards other people. By understanding the reasons and process

why and how we experience, feel and suffer those things can make us value the meaning of

life without hesitations.

Frankl’s meaning of life reflects all the efforts that we have poured , finding our

inspirations as our purpose and being responsible in all our actions as human being and to

others as well. By doing this we can answer the questions of how and why we see things in

different ways and understand them. Being a responsible person in all aspects whatever

happens in life is our purpose and that is how I reflect on Frankl’s meaning of life.
