Green Energy
1.
Renewable - a natural source of energy which is not depleted by use, such as water,
wind, or solar power.
Energy - power derived from chemical or physical resources, specially to provide light
and heat, or to work machines.
Fossil fuels - a natural fuel such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the
remains of living organisms.
Solar energy - radiant energy emitted by the sun.
Coal - a combustible black or dark brown rock consisting chiefly of carbonized plant
matter, found mainly in underground seams, and used as fuel.
Electricity replenish - restore energy to a former level or condition.

4.

Solar power- Solar power is low-emission; Solar power provides green jobs; In the long
run, solar power is economical.

Wind power- Wind power is cost-effective; Wind power is sustainable; Wind turbines
can be built on existing farms or ranches.

Hydropower- Hydropower is fuelled by water, making it a clean source of energy;

Hydropower is reliable and safe; Create leaks.

Geothermal energy- Geothermal energy is more environmentally friendly than

conventional fuel sources such as coal and other fossil fuels; Energy generated from
this resource is easy to calculate since it does not fluctuate in the same way as other
energy sources, such as solar and wind.

Biomass- Biomass is less expensive than fossil fuels; Biomass production adds a
revenue source for manufacturers.

Biofuels- Cost benefit; renewable; it is a efficient flue.

PHOTOSYNTHESIS

a) plants / light / chemical / photosynthesis / captured / carbon dioxide / oxygen

b) D-E-A-F-C-B
c) During photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) from
the air and soil. Within the plant cell, the water is oxidized, meaning it loses
electrons, while the carbon dioxide is reduced, meaning it gains electrons. This
transforms the water into oxygen and the carbon dioxide into glucose. The plant
then releases the oxygen back into the air, and stores energy within the glucose
molecules.

ASSIGNMENT 4

Task 1:
Between these two pictures I can see that there are inhabitable buildings in a city on
both, the most relevant difference between them is that the second image looks more
sustainable to the city’s environment. On the first image the grey color is the one that
stands out the most while on the second image it is green color, in my opinion I think
that reflects the effect of smoke and pollution on a city.
