Visual Narrative
A visual narrative is supposed to tell a story , it is the first
thing the audience notices and should grab their
attention. Our narrative is an image of several frosted
cakes with various colors. The choice of color is crucial,
bright in-your-face colors would distract the audience
from the cake, whereas pastels are warmer and more
inviting. Furthermore, they sell the idea of cakes
providing happiness thus establishing a connection with
the audience. In this image, there are several cakes, each
one uniquely frosted. This variation not only describes the
many goodies Magnolia can make but creates a sense of
depth in the image.
Tagline
A tagline is a short, catchy phrase that leads
the advertisement. The tagline must be
attention grabbing and memorable. A tagline
with meaning strikes more of a chord with the
customer than just the brand name alone.
In this case the tagline is "Life's batter with
cake". The phrase is short and memorable, and
the use of a pun makes it eye-catching.
Signature
A signature is essentially the identity of a certain
ad. This refers to the brand name or the logo.
in our Ad, we can see the name of the company
"Magnolia Bakery" written at the top. The signature
of the company can also include a sub-text like
"New-York City" being written under the brand
name.
The signature helps us distinguish a certain item by
its brands value. For example after seeing the Ad
you know whom to approach if you require the cake
from the Ad. this helps us determine that the floral
cakes are only supplied by Magnolia Bakery.
Copy
The copy refers to the words
in the advertisement
Ex: We make our buttery, beloved
floral cake extra festive with confetti
folded into each layer, then cover
the cake with buttercream and
adorn it with frosting!

The copy helps to promote attractive

qualities of the product
Slogan - Slogans are short phrases used
in advertising campaigns to
generate publicity and unify a
company's marketing strategy.

- example: “Whipped and Swirled

around the world”
