According to Iida (2016), many diseases can be triggered by an inactive lifestyle or bad posture,

especially if a person holds the same position for an extended period. Tools like footrests and others are
beneficial, it reduces the discomfort that comes with staying put.  A motivator to promote postural
correction through tools, exercise of the lower limbs or contraction of the calf muscles can be beneficial.
Activation to enhance blood pumping and venous return. Thus, this problem served as the impetus for a
design and ergonomics study. Work was done to create a prototype that would allowing the user to
move while still, in order to activate the calf muscle and prevent ailments of the vascular system.

Previous research has shown that office workers may not be making full use of their chair backs. This
may be due in part to cognitive demands and other psychological stressors. Not using a back brace can
increase muscle tension, which can lead to muscle fatigue and discomfort. Historically, footrests have
been advocated to address anthropometric differences in office environments. According to Wang et al.
(2022). The footrest facilitates backrest use and can convey biomechanical demands on the back and
neck muscles, especially when cognitive workload increases. Twenty participants worked on computer
tasks of varying complexity. Using a footrest caused workers to use the back of the chair more,
increasing pelvic rotation toward the back and a corresponding change in spinal flexion. However, we
did not detect any change in perceived EMG activity with the footrest.

Prolonged standing is typical in many professions and has been linked to low back pain. (2017) Elsevier
Ltd. (LBD). A footrest as an intervention to lessen LBD related to extended standing has not been studied
recently. This study looked at how a footrest affected LBD in order to see if there were any changes in
muscular fatigue, low back end-range posture, or movement. For two 2-hour trials, 20 people stood up
straight, one with and one without a footrest. Upper and lower lumbar angles, lumbar erector spinae
electromyography, and LBD were all assessed. In all scenarios, LBD increased significantly, although the
footrest had no appreciable impact on LBD. The only significant difference between circumstances was
an increase in UL lordosis. The only noteworthy difference between situations was that with footrest use,
UL lordosis gradually resembled normal standing. These results imply that footrest use may not prevent
LBD development and that muscle exhaustion or end-range postural processes are not likely to be the
cause of LBD development with extended standing.

It starts from brainstorming a product to propose. Then the product presentation

which will be evaluated to be approved. Next, after the approval the researchers will start work for the
catalogue and concept paper. Then will proceed for pre-approval and feedback. Lastly, if the paper and
catalogue are approved it will be submitted.
