E-wallets are a new type of payment method that connects money and technology.

With the
spread of new epidemics leading to changes in spending habits, e-wallets are becoming
increasingly popular, especially among younger shoppers. A 90% increase in monthly digital
wallet transactions has been reported between March 2020 and March 2021.

In the wake of the epidemic, we will see a QR code on display in almost every store. E-
wallets make it safer and more convenient for merchants and customers. As a result, the
number of e-wallet transactions reaches 2 billion in 2021.

More and more young people nowadays don't like to carry cash on the go, and they are using
e-wallets because you only need to carry a phone to save a lot of unnecessary hassle. For
example, have you ever stood in a long line with your cart, happily buying all the essentials,
thinking it's finally my turn, and then you suddenly realised that you don't have your wallet
with you today? Or maybe you only have a few RM left in your wallet. However, an e-wallet
will not let this happen because it is linked to your bank. Therefore, all you need to do is take
out your phone, display your QR code, and the store clerk will scan it and automatically
deduct the money from your e-wallet. Thus, it saves customers the trouble of withdrawing
money, and store owners can avoid the embarrassing situation of miscalculation.

In the new normal, we find fewer and fewer people carrying cash, let alone large amounts of
it. Let's imagine that one day you need to give someone RM2,000. Do you think it is safer to
carry a stack of RM50 or a stack of RM100? I think it is safer to carry RM100 than RM50.
Why? Because for RM100 we only need to carry 20 pieces, while for RM50 we need to carry
40 pieces. From the above, we can conclude that the less you carry, the safer you are. I think
my eyes looked like a thief to others that day! I thought my eyes were like a thief. But in
contrast, with an e-purse, you only need to carry a cell phone. Because all you have to do is
meet the person and obtain their phone number. Then you can transfer RM2,000 directly to
the other person. So, in terms of volume, e-wallets beat cash! I wouldn't say that using an e-
wallet is 100% safe, but I believe that using an e-wallet is safer than carrying cash.

At the end of the day, we must make the most of the benefits that technology brings us;
otherwise, why would people spend so much time and money on it? It was invented for us! It
may be difficult to change this habit now because no one likes to change. But both students
and businessmen must learn to adapt to the new normal. Times are always moving, and
people must If you don't, you'll be left behind by the world.
