Statement of Purpose

My name is Nazar Abbas S/o Nasir Hussain and I was born on 20 March 1999. In my home
country, Pakistan I completed my matric level from Kohsar Public School in 2014 with A
grade. Then I completed my Intermediate from GPGC Mandian, Abbottabad in 2016.
Further, I had pursued and completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in
December 2020 from Preston University Kohat. It is a reputed university in Pakistan and I
was awarded with 3.2 CGPA out of 4.0. My parents are very conscious about my studies and
they have been encouraging me since bachelor that I have to get my specialized master’s
degree from a country which is well aware about the quality of education.

Basically, I earned my bachelor's s degree in Computer Science. This course helped me to

gain basic as well as in-depth knowledge and understanding of the computing and technical
courses such as software development, databases, cyber security, project Management,
data science and Information Systems, business law, and ethics, etc. This was the course that
created adequate interest in me to go abroad and pursue higher studies to enrich my
academic background. Now I want to pursue my further education in big data Technologies.
I believe that big data Technologies course offered in this university will provide me the
opportunity to enable further improvement of my personal and professional skills.

Universities in Pakistan are deficient in teaching up to date theories and also don't focus on
training students for the skills required to cope up with the growing innovative field which is
why a foreign degree is more suitable where I would be taught by fluent English speaking
teachers and gain exposure by the practical education and projects assigned that would
polish my skills hence building my CV stronger for further Job applications in Pakistan with
skills finer than the local graduates. Thus, pursuing my master in a foreign university will not
only allow me to gain up to date knowledge about my desired field but it will also strength
my academic profile by developing my professional skills which is highly valued in the
growing competitive job market in Pakistan.

I have shortlisted UK as my study destination as it is the second most popular study

destination in the world offering outstanding educational and professional opportunities for
international students. UK offers excellent academic programs that compliment
international standards and demands of the workplace. That being the reason, the
qualifications from the UK Universities are highly regarded by employers around the world
including Pakistan. Before finalizing UK, I also considered USA, Australia and Canada, but
when I took a cross comparison, I came to know that the education in USA is significantly
expensive which is beyond my financial capabilities. Now as for Australia and Canada, the
universities offer 2 years of master program as opposed to UK where the master degree is of
one year. As I want to complete my higher education at the earliest, therefore I preferred UK
over other countries.

I have chosen university of Westminster for MSc Big Data Technologies, since it is one of the
renowned universities in UK for its innovative approach to education providing industry
relevant teaching and developed research spaces. It lies in the top 1000 universities in the
world have strong infrastructure, research and development that helps its students for a
successful career after graduating. Acquiring my degree from university of Westminster, I
will have a firm grip on the understanding of advanced and latest knowledge pertaining to
important areas of business. I will develop strong technical skills in analyzing and developing
plans. They use the latest technology along with updated teaching methodology to educate
their students. It has amazing student reviews by local and international students.
Therefore, I selected this university.

After the completion of my degree at university of Westminster, I will return back to

Pakistan and pursue my profession in my home country in relevant industries like Safe Seal
Technology and Systems Limited etc. As a graduate from the world-class educational system
of the UK and a highly prestigious university, I will expect my initial salary to be PKR 120,000
- 150,000 per month. whereas a local graduate from a local university will get less salary
around PKR 50,000/- to PKR 70,000/- as their initial salary due to less advanced knowledge,
skills, and foreign exposure. These companies give a higher preference to foreign university
graduates for posts and offer them higher salaries and promotional prospects, so I will be
able to recover my investment in education by aiming to work in such companies.

My family will be the financial sponsor of my education and living throughout my stay in the
UK. This includes all the tuition fees, health cover, accommodation costs, and miscellaneous
expenses. My visa conditions are fulfilled and I have all the required documents to apply for
the visa. Apart from that, I have a valid passport, all my educational documents, and a
transcript of my grades that I have achieved until now. I am quite well aware of the student
visa conditions and I assure you to abide by all of them throughout my whole stay there in
the UK. It will be a great honor and privilege for me to become a part of your institute for my
studies. I am very much hopeful and I am really looking forward to hearing from you very
soon in this regard.
