ROAD RESERVE ENCROACHMENT ALONG MACHAKOS – WOTE ROAD ON

PARCEL NO.703 KIMUTWA – KIIMA KIMWE MACHAKOS COUNTY

ROAD MAPPING AT CHAINAGE 5+700 AT MACHAKOS KATUMANI (B60) ROAD.

Reference is made to the above subject and unreferenced letter dated 22/11/2022.

The complainant had reported that a developer has fenced up to the road reserve, therefore
blocking them from accessing their properties. We then undertook to investigate and survey the
area to find out the status.

FINDINGS

During the survey we realized that the road reserve is demarcated at 20M from the center line
with road edge marker post leaving a corridor of 40M.

However, the developer has fenced on his parcel at 14M at the start and 12M at the end therefore
encroaches on the road reserve.

WAY FORWARD
We propose the fence be removed immediately since it encroaches on the road reserve.
Sensitization meeting be programmed in order to inform the public on the importance of
protecting road reserve.
