Creating a Portfolio

Step 1
On the Mahara home screen, click ‘Create’:

Beneath Pages and Collections, click ‘Add’:

Step 3
You will be asked if you want to create a Collection (like a folder) or a Page. For now, choose Page:

Step 4
Set up the page. Enter a page title, a description, and choose how you’d like your name to be displayed when people
look at your portfolio, then click ‘Save’:

Step 5
Add the page content. First choose a layout for your page:

Select a page layout option, then click ‘Save’:

Now you can begin adding content to your page. Use the menu on the left to drag in content:

You can often choose to make the content ‘retractable’ – choose ‘Automatically retract’ so only the title is shown. If
you click it, the content will be displayed. This could help to keep your portfolio neat and tidy.

Adding Journals and Personal Information


Journals are created in your account area and then displayed in your portfolio using the toolbar. If you want to include
a Journal, first create one by following the guidance to ‘Create a Journal’.
The ‘Adding Personal Information’ guide will help you to update your profile information, add social media links and
résumé details.

Step 7
Use the ‘Display page’ links to see how the page will look:
