Feminism

Feminism is the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes.
It is a social and political movement that fights for women’s rights on the grounds of
gender equality. Although feminism calls for equality in opportunities, it does not
discount the biological differences between the sexes. Feminism is not essentially a
women’s movement only but a movement for all. Everything is covered, including
social, political, and economic spheres. Feminist movements have actually played a
significant role in the empowerment of women throughout history.
Feminism empowers people and the society as a whole. It fights for women’s
right to vote, have an education, a job, and do things they have been forbid from the
old times. Respecting the diversity of women's experiences, identities, and expertise
is another aspect of feminism, as is working to enable all women to recognize their
own strengths. We frequently only know about women in history because of their
connections to renowned men, as women were usually restricted to the house as
daughters, wives, and mothers. In today’s time, feminism promotes gender equality
rather than female superiority. And one of the main goals of feminism is to remove
the gender roles that have existed for a long time and deconstruct them in order to
release people from the constraints of "traditional" gender roles and enable them to
live free and empowered lives.
Women have fought for equality in societal, legal, and gender roles for many
years, if not decades. They started pursuing voting equality in the 18th century,
which is when their fights really began. The struggle that women endured for equality
in the twentieth century from the early 1920s through the 1800s still shocks many
today. From being able to provide women the legal right to a safe abortion in 1973 to
being able to grant women the right to vote in 1920. Even though the ability of
women to vote was the first of many strides toward equality, there is still some
debate in the modern world. To fight for equality on both sides, everyone, including
men and women, should join forces.
Even in the 21st century, feminism is necessary to provide women the same
rights and respect in society as men, not to subjugate males. Rather than seeking
revenge for the abuses of past ages, and inspiring women to become happy
individuals who will benefit future generations, feminism seeks to address the
oppressive behaviours that women seem to have plagued since the dawn of time. It
influences women to constantly fight against patriarchy. The fact that gender roles
are not equal in our society harms both men and women equally. Some people are
still skeptical that feminism is a good movement that is actively bringing about
significant social change in society. While granting women the right to vote did open
up many opportunities, discrimination against women on the basis of their sex and
occasionally even their race continues to be a major obstacle for them.
As of 2016, women make up about half of the workforce and are more likely
than men to have earned a bachelor's degree by the age of 29. In addition to having
higher educational attainment rates than men, women are also viewed as the
primary or only breadwinners in their households. There are some examples of
feminism including the right to vote, run for public office, work, earn equal pay, own
property, receive education, enter contracts, have equal rights within marriage, and
maternity leave.
Even though there are many positive sides about feminism, there are also
some negative sides of it such us the disadvantages of feminism. Some
disadvantages are towards men which include the fact that feminists tend to focus
more on female violence or social disparities than on the struggles, distinctions, and
disparities that men face in the world. In addition, men are more likely to hold senior
positions in organizations, which is related to the pay gap that exists between men
and women in the workforce. Due to the perception that men occupy positions of
greater authority and influence and that women are more egocentric, women often
hold fewer executive roles than men.
