GDP is the market value of the final goods and services produced within a country in
a given time period.
Market Value
GDP is a market value—goods and services are valued at their market prices.
Final Goods and Services
GDP is the value of the final goods and services produced.
A final good (or service) is an item bought by its final user during a specified
time period.
Produced Within a Country
GDP measures production within a country—domestic production.
In a Given Time Period
GDP measures production during a specific time period, normally a year or a
quarter of a year.
Gross National Product (GNP)
GNP is the market value of the final goods and services produced within a country and
abroad in a given time period.
The Human Development Index (HDI) is a summary measure of average achievement in key
dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a
decent standard of living. The HDI is the geometric mean of normalized indices for each of
the three dimensions.
The Gross National Happiness Index is a single number index developed from 33 indicators
categorized under nine domains.
Orgin:The Chakma is the largest ethnic group in Bangladesh. The chakma come from Arakan
province in Mayanmar. The chakm used to call Shakya.
Location: They mainly live in Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachari and Cox’s Bazaar.
culture: The chakma circle consists of the Rangamati district including parts of Khagrachari.
It is headed by the Chakma chief or the Chakma king.
In chakma language, a village is called adam or para. The village chief is known as the
Karbari. The leader of Mouza is called the Headman. The Headman works different
activities:
The chakma king is the chief of the chakma community. He is the symbol of social unity and
solidarity. He play the role of an advisor to government of Bangladesh on the Chottogram
hill tracts Affairs.
Dress: The man wear shirt or fotua and lungi. Women wear fotua and lungi.
Society:
The Chakma society is patriarchal and is mostly live on agriculture. They are equally skilled in
Jhum and flatland cultivation. The Chakma are Buddist. There is a Buddist temple in almost
very single chakma village. Thyey worship Lord Budda during the full moon and other
occasions including The Boishakhi Purnima by offering flowers, foods and other items.
During tyhe Budda Purnima occasion is called Katin Cheerbardan.
