ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rasaq Malik was born and raised up in Iseyin,

Nigeria. He celebrates his birthday every year on 3rd
April. As talking about Rasaq Malik Family, His mother
worked as a social worker and his father was an officer.
In his family, he lives with his younger brother.
He worked in many newspapers and online print
journals including the Rattle, Michigan Quarterly
Review, Poet lore. He loves to write poetry and many
people are also called him a hunter poet.

REFLECTION
“In Another World” is a poem composed by Rasaq
Malik which mainly revolves around grieving of losing
friends and family. Malik used a lot of imagery in his
poem in order to clearly express that he don’t wanted a
child since he don’t want to see them suffering. Upon
understanding this, I chose this verse since it talks about
the father’s agony when seeing their children suffering.
The pain, discomfort and affliction of losing your loved
ones are unbearable.
In my visual poem I used a lot of picture of a father,
a stronghold representation of mighty wall that can be
easily teared up to pieces upon seeing his family’s demise.
