Abstract Activity 2

1. Is Rizal nationalist ideal still applicable to the Philippines situation today? Explain why yes or
why not?
As a Filipino living in the present, it is unquestionably a resounding "yes."
In particular in the humanities, Dr. Jose Rizal has been one of my sources of inspiration. The
following are some of the things I've learned from Dr. Jose Rizal.
• To be a versatile writer (poetry, plays, and foreign languages).
• To be interested in traveling abroad.
• To be a free-spirited person (plus something like becoming a polymath based on my interests).
• To speak out against injustice and fight for it.
• To be interested in connecting with our Malays cousin, in honor of Dr. Jose Rizal's dream of
unifying the so-called “Malay race," also known as the first people to live in maritime Southeast
Asia.

2. Like Rizal during the 19th century, what would you do today to address our country’s problem on
corruptions and abuse of power?
I'd like to address issues like crime, drug abuse, and corruption to those in positions of authority
in our country! Please keep us where we are and take care not to hurt anyone's past. We are all
biological. We are involved in our nation's affairs, rich or poor. We admire everyone's decisions,
even if we don't agree with them, but we are all men of standing and belong to this country's
civilization.
