Title : Brigada Eskwela 2020

II. DESCRIPTION AND RATIONALE

The Brigada Eskwela Program is one of the most significant programs of the
Department of Education, which there is presence of bayanihan spirit. The private
institutions/individuals, government agencies, local government units, and other
organizations are enjoined to contribute and to participate in the DepEd’s campaign to
ensure accessible and quality basic education.

The key point of the previous plan was to conduct the National Kick-off Program on
May 14, 2020 at Region VI, as the host region. In addition, all Regional Offices and Schools
Division Offices shall hold a kick-off ceremony to launch the Brigada Eskwela in their
respective areas on or before May 18, 2020. The weeklong Maintenance Week is supposed
to be held on May 18-23, 2020.

However, due to the situation the world is facing today, the COVID – 19 struck the
world into shock. All plans, programs, activities, projects and even lives have changed.
Therefore, we are now into the NEW NORMAL situation especially in Education.
Nevertheless, this situation does not hinder the desire of the school to provide quality
education and safe learning place to our learners.

The Brigada Eskwela program highlights partnership initiatives that complement the
Department of Education’s efforts to ensure that quality basic education will continue
despite the challenges in adapting the COVID-19 pandemic. The School Head shall mobilize
the school’s partnership focal person to ensure the effective implementation of Brigada
Eskwela Program involving the community and local stakeholders.

III. OBJECTIVES
The School Brigada Eskwela Program 2020 aims to:
1. Bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort,
and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year in
June
2. Promote the spirit of volunteerism
3. Give recognition to all School Partners
