Jesus guides us to overcome difficulties and continue in faith by making changes in our lives through His teachings, hope, and example. Because of Jesus's authority over people's thoughts and lives, we must acknowledge Him as God's Son, repent of our sins, and make Him Lord to receive salvation and eternal life freely through God's love. We must continually bring our emotions before God and repent of sin in our hearts, making Him the ruler of our lives rather than our emotions.

Jesus is significant to us because He guides us in making changes in our lives,
overcoming difficulties, and continuing forward in faith as we make our way back to Him and His Father through His atoning work, teachings, hope, peace, and example. Because of the authority that Jesus Christ wields over people's thoughts, hearts, and lives through his teachings, love, and their adherence to his commandments and imitation of his life. Salvation is a free gift from God just because He loves us so much; it is not a result of our good acts or anything remarkable that we have done. We must repent of our sins, acknowledge Jesus as God's Son and Savior, and acknowledge Him as Lord of our lives. We get salvation and eternal life by doing this. We need to continually bring our emotions before the Lord as well as repent of the sin that so readily springs up in our hearts. We must make God the ruler of our emotions if we are to seek first the kingdom of God. He must rule and reign over our lives rather than allowing our emotions to do so.
