Report with Visuals

Overview

When Jackson, a salesman, playfully inquires of Teaira, a female coworker, whether her
attractiveness is the reason she got accepted into a leadership programme, the only other person
in the room, his friend Rainer, reports the incident to HR. In light of her company's zero-
tolerance policy, Teaira must now decide whether to register a complaint or not.

We should not tolerate any
kind of sexual misconduct
Should I file a complaint or
not??

Teaira

Before bringing it up with HR, Rainer should have spoken with Teira to learn more about the
episode. Teira needs to consider how this incident will affect Coltrane’s working community as a
whole and what kind of example she wants to set for other female members of the organization.
The no-resilience policy at Coltrane suggests that Jackson may be fired from the company if
Teira raises a complaint, which would be an incredibly harsh punishment for an unintentional
remark.
In addition, we also suggest reorganizing the strategy in light of the gravity and design of the
wrongdoing. Jackson shouldn't be fired in this case; instead, he should receive pay cuts, poorer
evaluation ratings, etc.

An internal dispute resolution or grievance council can be established, and adequate working
circumstances should be provided with regard to work, recreation, well-being, and cleanliness to
further ensure that there is no hostile environment toward women at workplaces. Women
employees shouldn't be able to legitimately claim that they are burdened by their own
businesses. Any lewd behavior at the workplace should be discouraged, reported, and dealt
with appropriately.
