Historical Background
At the beginning of the Winter War, north to Ladoga Lake, Soviets had deployed the 139th Rifle Division which advanced along the road
to Tolvajarvi. To counter this threat, Finnish Command had formed the Talvela Group with some different units in the area. On the 12th of
December, the Talvela Group counter-attacked the Soviet troops once they were advancing in the isthmus between lakes Tolvajarvi and
Hirvasjarvi. A pincer attack across the frozen lakes gave to the Finnish the victory by the capture of a tourist hotel which was a Soviet
regimental HQ. The battle of Tolvajarvi was the first Finnish victory of the Winter War.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Axis player [Finland] : 6 command cards, you move first.
Allied player [Soviet Union] : 5 command cards.

Conditions of Victory
6 medals.
"Tourist Hotel" is a temporary medal objective for the Axis
player.

Special Rules
- Use "Red Army" rules (Nations 2).
- Use "Finnish Ski Troops" rules for all Finnish units (Troops
9). Badges are not required.
- Use "Sniper" rules (Troop 10) to the two Finnish infantry
units with a single figure. Badges are not required.
- Use "Castle" rules (Terrains 67) to the "Tourist Hotel".
- Remove the "Air Power" card before to begin the game.
