    a) Classify the molecule as a hydrocarbon/functionalized hydrocarbon,


    monoterpene, diterpene, triterpene, or a tetraterpene. (2 points)
    b) Support your answer in 1-2 sentences. (2 points)

    1. Germanyllialool
    - Diterpene. It has four isoprene groups and a total of 20 carbons.
    2. (Z)-9-tricosene
    - Hydrocarbon. It contains only carbon and hydrogen atoms.
    3. β-sitosterol
    - Triterpene. It is a phytosterol and phytosterols belong to the family of
    triterpenes.
