2. Do you think men and women differ on issues like family and children?

How will you,

as a speaker, maintain immediacy by having both men and women as your audience
while discussing a topic on family and children? (10 points)

Yes, I think men and women differ on issues like family and children. If I were to give
a speech with men and women as my audience, I will include personal experiences and
observations to maintain immediacy in my speech. However, I will still make sure that
everything will be objective and my personal biases and judgments would be set aside to be
fair to everyone. To give more warmth to my audience, if possible, I would also ask them
questions on their views, experiences, and opinions on the topic of family and children to
show my willingness to connect, listen to them, and accept information from them. In
receiving their responses, I would act as their moderator, and make sure that everyone’s ideas
are acknowledged. In expounding each other’s ideas, I would make sure that no side will be
given favor, especially since their views on these issues and topics differ from each other.
Lastly, if my speech will be delivered personally or physically, I would interact with them as
much as possible and show my utmost interest and connectivity with them regarding the topic
through facial expressions, eye contact, and body language. I believe that by using these, I
will be able to deliver my speech more efficiently and effectively while also connecting with
my audience in a fair and balanced manner.
