1. Relate these four (4) moral standards: Generosity, Honesty, Integrity and Kindness, with
who are they based on your opinion of what you’ve observed during this pandemic?
If for example, the church and the humble but rich people are exemplifying
with GENEROSITY, whom will you be referring to in the community with the other
three (3) moral standards, and WHY? Explain well.

A) Kindness
I will refer the moral standard of Kindness to our Frontliners. They were my choice
for this moral standard because kindness simple means being considerate and treating
others well, and we know this is what our frontliners are doing today. They sacrifice their
lives just to fulfill their role, they become considerate of everything just to fight this
virus, they become our savior, our super hero, that’s why for me, in this pandemic they
are the true meaning of the word Kindness.

B) Honesty

I will refer the moral standard of honesty to our Officials. To all the barangay
officials, and higher officials, for me, in this pandemic you are the true meaning of
honesty. Honesty is being truthful and sincere, and in this pandemic we can clearly see the
sincerity of our officials in fulfilling their work. They are doing their best, and they are
doing everything they can to provide for us. They are being honest even when they have
the opportunity to do evil, for example there is the relief funds, instead of stealing it and
being greedy they have used it properly to provide for their people.

C) Integrity

I will refer the moral standard of Integrity to the people of our community. Integrity
is defined as, sticking to your moral and ethical principles and values. It simple means
doing what is right even though no one is watching. This is very accurate for them because
the people are the one who follows the laws. It’s up to them if they will abide or not, and
in this pandemic we can thankfully say that the community choose to abide. The people
are no longer scattering out, they obey the rules even though there are no authorities who
watches, and they choose to do the right thing for their safety.

D) Generosity

I will refer the moral standard of generosity to the humble and rich people in our
community. They were my choice for this moral standard because during this pandemic
we can see that they are the one who’s donating and sharing their blessings. May it be
small or large things they are willing to give their resources, help and even their time to
others. That’s why for me, in this pandemic they are the true meaning of generosity.

2. Based on concerned number of slides, differentiate GOOD MANNERS, RIGHT

CONDUCT and ETIQUETTE. Are they related in a way? How? Give example and
situations

The difference between good manners, right conduct and etiquette is that good
manners simple means, how you convey respect to those you interact with, and also
commands respect from those you interact with. While right conduct is concerned with
the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong. It is
living in a moral and ethical way in the absolute sense rather than by the standards of any
particular time or society. And etiquette is defined as the formal manners and rules that
are followed in social or professional settings. It is what you do under various
circumstances. For example, the rules of writing a thank you note, saying please and
saying thank you. In a way they are somewhat related because good manners, right
conduct and etiquette are all use to do good, to have good behavior, for others to have
good impression to you, and used to be a good person. A good example is when making a
request. This situation often happens in restaurants when we are making orders. To show
that as a person we have good manners, right conduct and etiquette we should always
show respect to the staff by being polite, always greet them with a smile, when making a
order say please, when you get what you ask for say thank you and lastly, clean as you
go. This small things will give you a good impression and will show that you have a good
behavior.

3. How important to you as a student, that the TEACHER’S respect to each in everyone of
you are very much felt? Does it add some motivation to learn on your part. If yes, Give
some benefits/advantages on your part of the ‘fact’ that you felt the ‘teacher respect also
your opinion’, ‘give way well with you when you’re expressing your feelings and
understanding’ –in the teaching-learning process.

As a student who will also be a future teacher, it is important for me to feel the
respect that my teacher shows. It gives me the motivation to study better and I get a lot of
benefits because of the respect he/she shows. One of those benefits was, I become more
confident, given the fact that when I make a mistake the teacher does not embarrass me
but instead, he encourages me more, the teacher does not force his opinion and beliefs,
and the teacher always acknowledges my thoughts, it only shows that he respects my
opinion. And when I express my feeling, the teacher listens, he does not judge but instead
he understands, it just shows that he also respects me as a person. In addition, I became a
good and obedient student, I become Disciplined, I become persistent and consistent, and
lastly, I develop and grow academically, it is all because of the respect that the teacher
showed. I believe in the saying respect begets respect, what you do unto others is what
will be done to you, and what goes around comes round, that’s why I have high respect to
those teachers who genuinely shows their loved and respect to students because It’s not
easy to handle many people, you have to have a lot of patience and understanding when
dealing with them, but respect is always the key, when you respect them they will respect
you and teaching will be easier. Furthermore, a teacher becomes so much more effective
when they can earn classes respect.

4. If courtesy of a MAN is a ‘pogi point’ to him especially when COURTing, what is its
symbolism in the kind PARENTing he/she receives from their parents/ significant others?
Prove.

Pogi points meas non-monetary imaginary "points" awarded for polite, witty, cool, or
otherwise positive behavior exhibited for the purpose of impressing a
female courtship partner. While courtesy means good manners and polite behavior.
Having courtesy while courting symbolizes that he is raised well by his parents.
Considering the fact that not all people have courtesy or good manners, because manners
is something that we learn as we grow, we are not born with it. It is something that is
thought to us by our parents through the good examples that they have been showing us
since we were young until we grow up. Furthermore, having courtesy also shows that he
have respect, and respect is something that is important in an relationship. That’s why I
can definitely say that he receives a great kind of parenting from his parents, a kind of
parenting that we should all use and emulate.

5. Find an: a) article on polite conversation. Critic and analyze well the article.
Explore on your opinion.

“The Art of Polite Conversation” is the title of the article that I read. It’s an
understandable and knowledgeable article tackling a lot of topics about polite
conversation. One of the topic that has been discussed in the article is about small talk, it
defines and shows the importance of small talks in a conversation. It also discussed the
guidelines in choosing an appropriate topic that will work on a polite conversation, such
as asking about someone's family, newspaper stories, sports, relaying good news about
friends, suggesting a good restaurant/movie/television program, discussing local events,
and general topics of interest. Th article also teaches us on how to salvage a conversation
when an inappropriate situations happens. In addition, it also shows us how to properly
give and receive a compliment in a conversation. Overall, I can say that it is must read
article especially for students like me, I would deffinitely recommend this to my fellow
classmates because It will educate us a lot about polite conversation. Furthermore, It also
shares a lot of lessons that we can use in our in school and in our life.

b) Give one important things to you when calling somebody in a telephone? Why?

One of the most important things I do when calling somebody is to always answer
professionally. I always make sure that no matter who I talk to, I answer them with
professionalism because for me the way I answer the phone represents my personality
and It shows who I really am as a person. We should always remember that our voice on
the phone is sometimes the only impression the caller will get. It is also the right thing to
do because if we answer the phone unprofessionally it can be disrespectful to the caller
and it may cause us some misunderstanding, it may also be the callers last impression of
me, and we don’t want our last impression to be bad impression, so we should always
answer the phone professionally.

6. In writing a correspondence about this COVID 19 PANDEMIC, WRITE one or two

pages sentiments, opinion, awe, understanding, criticism, analysis, impression of yours
and base all these to your observation, experiences (on the measures being implemented
from your barangay up to the scenario you’ve lively monitored up to the higher politicians
and rules of the nation and/or of the world in general. And at the end, cite your ‘feelings’
and of ‘rationale’ –does this affect YOU ‘positively’ (ex: you became more HUMBLE)
and of ‘negatively’ (you became more worrier) your moral and your conduct as a person.
How? Elaborate!

2020, new year, new decade, renewed hope, but who would have thought that this
year, we would not only experience the eruption of Taal Volcano, we will also face a
deadly enemy that will change our life, the Coronavirus Disease or COVID 19.
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered
coronavirus. It was first recorded by the World Health Organization in China on
December 31, 2019. Seven days later, on January 7, 2020, it was announced that the
source of the infectious disease was a novel coronavirus, it was then called 2019 nCoV.
More than a week later, the virus quickly spread to the US, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, and
South Korea. On January 30, the virus has infected 31 provinces in China and it has been
declared as a Public health emergency of international concern. On that same day, the
DOH also announced the first confirmed case in the Philippines, a 38-year-old woman
from Wuhan China. On February 2, 2020, a man was reported to have died on nCoV 19
in the country, he is also the first person to die because of this virus outside of China.
After nine days, on February 11, the World Health Organization announced the official
name of the virus, it was called Covid-19. On March 7, DOH has confirmed that there is
a local Covid transmission in the country. Eight days later, on March 15, Metro Manila
was put into a lockdown that was then followed by the whole Island of Luzon 24 hours
later.
The lockdown that is called ECQ or enhanced community quarantine was the first
response made by our government to the growing pandemic of coronavirus. It means
restricting the movement of the population except for necessity, work, and health
circumstances. Under the ECQ setup, mass gatherings are completely prohibited and all
means of public transport are no longer allowed limiting the movement of people. All
schools in all levels are temporarily prohibited to conduct classes and activities until
further notice. A "work from home" scheme is applied to the government workers of
the executive branch except for the skeletal workforce consisting of uniformed personnel
(Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine Coast
Guard), those providing services in the frontline of health and emergency, and border
control. For the private sector, companies are also advised to implement a "work from
home" arrangement. It was supposed to last for only a month starting March 15 to April
15 but things got bad, the number of positive cases are continuously rising, the deaths are
increasing and the number of recoveries are not that high. To make things worse, the
healthcare workers are also being infected, the hospitals are being crowded, and
protective supplies are running low. That’s why there is no other choice for the
government but to extend the ECQ until the situation change.
I can say that the government is doing everything they can to fight this virus. They
proposed answers to our needs such as, providing financial programs like Social
amelioration program, passing the "Bayanihan Act of 2020" and giving Financial
assistance From DOLE and SSS. The LGU has also acted very well in this pandemic,
making sure that the laws are implemented properly, they nicely supervise all of the
Barangays and they manage to do all of the things that needed to be done. And of course
to the Barangay, who's very hand on in directing and running all the activities for the
community. Such as house to house visit, giving reliefs, and giving everything that is
needed during this calamity. I salute them all because they have done so much just to
fulfill their works and served the people. My only sentiment on what’s happening right
now is their lack of actions in the slow distribution of SAP. We see on the news that
things regarding the Social Amelioration Program are being unpleasant, not all
unprivileged families are given the program and the distribution of money is getting
unorganized. But overall I can tell that all their actions are good and things are getting
better and better.
If you would ask me what this pandemic has brought me I can say two things, one
negative and one positive. Let’s start with the negative, after all the things we
experienced with this pandemic, I can say that as a person I become more Fearful. I often
worry about the bad things that might happen to us, I overthink, and I become more
scarred. But on the positive side, I become more hopeful, I hope that everything will be
alright, that we can overcome it, that things will be back to normal and I hope that this
pandemic will end soon. Despite of all the negativities, I believe that we can do it, with
the guidance of God we can do everything.
