Napoleon established the Kingdom of Holland as


a satellite state (1806–1810), and afterwards just
a French imperial province. The House of Orange
became the rulers of an extended "United
Kingdom of the Netherlands," which now
included Belgium and Luxembourg, following
Napoleon's defeat in 1813–1815.
