Sıfatlarda Karşılaştırma ( Comparison – Superlative )

II- More.......than/....er than: Daha

A) İki ve ikiden fazla heceli sıfatlarda  kıyaslama yapmak için kıyaslama yaptığımız özellik-sıfat
more ve than kelimelerinin arasına getirilir.

 This e-mail is more urgent than the other e-mail. Bu e-posta diğer e-postadan daha acil.

“ Imagination is more important than knowledge. “ Albert Einstein (Hayalgücü bilgiden daha önemlidir.)

 Your question is more difficult than his question. – Senin sorun onun sorusundan daha zor.

B) Tek heceli sıfatlarda kıyaslama yapmak için sıfatın sonuna  –er  than eki gelir.

 Fuel oil is cheaper than petrole. (Mazot benzinden daha ucuzdur.)

 ”I need a bigger glass than this one.” (Bundan daha büyük bir bardağa ihtiyacım var.)

“She is 5 years older than her husband.” (O kocasından 5 yaş daha yaşlı.)

 III- The most............/the.......est: En

A) İki ve ikiden fazla heceli sıfatlar için en üstün olduğunu söylemek istediğimizde bu sıfatın
başına the most kelimeleri getirilir.

You are the most successful student. – Sen en başarılı öğrencisin.

The first question is the most difficult one in the exam. - İlk soru sınavdaki en zor olanıydı.

 Istanbul is the most crowded city in Turkey. - İstanbul Türkiye’deki en kalabalık şehirdir.

B) Tek heceli sıfatlar için en üstün olduğunu söylemek istediğimizde sıfattan önce the gelir, sıfata
–est eki getirilir.

The Nile is the longest river in the world. Nil dünyadaki en uzun akarsudur.

 How can I go to the nearest grocer? - En yakın bakkala nasıl gidebilirim?

You were  wearing the nicest costume in the performance. - Gösterideki en hoş kostümü giyiyordun.

 YAZIM KURALLARI

 a) -e harfi ile biten sıfatlar ile karşılaştırma yaparken sadece –r/-st getirilir.

“You should keep this in a safer place.” (Bunu daha güvenli bir yerde tutmalısın.)

 b) –y harfi ile biten  sıfatları karşılaştırma yaparken kullanmak istediğimizde –y harfi düşer yerine
–ier gelir veya –iest gelir.

“This question is easier than the previous one.” (Bu soru öncekinden daha kolay.)

“I think Beyaz is the funniest man on television.” (Bence Beyaz Televizyondaki en komik adam.)

c) Sonu sesli harf+sessiz harf ile biten sıfatlar (w,y ile bitenler hariç) ile karşılaştırma yapmak
istediğimzde  sıfatın sonundaki sessiz harf+-er/sessiz harf+ -est getirilir.

“Today is  hotter than  yesterday.”  ( Bugün dünden daha sıcak.)

“Konya is the biggest city in Turkey.” (Konya Türkiye’deki en büyük şehirdir. )

I- As……as: Kadar

 Karşılaştırdığımız iki şeyin eşit olduğunu /eşit olmadığını belirtmek için kullanılır.  So……… as kalıbı da
aynı şekilde kullanılır. Karşılaştırdığınız özellikten önce ve sonra as kelimesinin getirilmesi ile oluşturulur.

 Eskişehir is as cold as Ankara. – burada karşılaştırdığımız özellik yani sıfat cold kelimesidir. Bu
kelimeden önce ve sonra as kelimesini getirdiğimizde kadar soğuk ifadesini oluşturmuş oluruz.

 “A tiger is as wild as a lion.” (Kaplan aslan kadar vahşidir.)

 “Ottoman Empire is not as old as Seljuk.” (Osmanlı İmpatarotluğu Selçuk kadar eski değildir.)

 “Is silver as dear as gold?” (Gümüş altın kadar değerli midir?)

 “ I don’t go there as often as you.” (Oraya senin kadar sık gitmiyorum.)

 “Football is more popular than voleyball.” (Futbol voleyboldan daha popülerdir.)

 “Her cake  is not as/so good as the cake my mother makes.“(Onun keki annemin yaptığı kek kadar
güzel değildir.)

 “Rize is not as big as Bursa.” (Rize Bursa kadar büyük değildir.)

 * “As “ den sonra kişi zamiri(I,you,we,they,she,he,it)  nesne formunda (my,you,us,them, her,his,it) gelir.

 “You love him as much as me.” ( Onu benim kadar seviyorsun.)

 “Her friend is not as clever as her.”(Arkadaşı onun kadar zeki değil.)

 Ama eğer kişi zamirinden sonra fiil geliyorsa o zaman subject formunu kullanırız.

 “You love him as much as I love.”(Onu benim sevdiğim kadar seviyorsun.)

 “Her friend is not as clever as she is.” (Arkadaşı onun olduğu kadar zeki değil.)
