PERFORM THE FOLLOWING TASK.

TASK#1: Make a Digital story telling about How my Brother Leon Brought Home a
Wife.

The short story "How My Brother Leon Brought a Home Wife" was written by. Mr.
Manuel E. Arguilla, an ilocano who won first place in the Commonwealth Literary
Contest in 1940.

The story begins with the narrator Baldo introducing his brother Leon and Maria,
describing Maria's physical appearance and how his brother Leon (Noel) is in love
with his wife. They then embark on their journey with Labang.
The complication of the story shown when baldo took the road of Waig instead
of passing Camino Real. It was the wish of the father to go by waig. They where
trying to test Maria’s characteristics, her attitude, her looks, she talks and the way she
handle the situation.

The moment Baldo, Maria, and Leon reach their final destination, which is their
home, is the story's high point. Leon tries to introduce Maria to his family, but they
are unable to meet his father due to a foot problem.
When Baldo is talking to his father about how Maria acts and adapts to the
environment she is going to, the problem is solved. She outperformed their father's
trials, proving to Leon that she is worth having as his wife.

While baldo and his father were talking, they sensed Leon and Maria entering their
room, so baldo and his father abruptly changed the subject to labang and said hello to
watered labang. Then, as baldo was leaving, he mentioned that he could still smell the
fragrance of Maria like it was a morning when papayas were in bloom.
TASK#2 : POSTERIFIC, Create a poster that explains or discusses the influence of
Americans to our Culture and Literature.
Task # 3: Make a reflection paper centering on the values and lessons gained
from the  story Footnote to Youth.

Footnote to Youth is a story about Dodong, who wants to marry too soon and
seeks permission from his parents. They were hesitant at first, but Dodong mustered
the courage to marry the love of his life. History repeated itself, and at an
unexpected time, Dodong's son planned to marry at a young age as well. That's
when Dodong realized everything, but he can't do anything because that's exactly
what he did in his childhood. The story's theme implies that, without a doubt, people
will always follow their feelings and do anything to get what they want, especially
young people, and then regret it in the end. Nowadays, the theme perfectly fits the
actual events. Teenagers tend to marry at an early age and make timely decisions
without analyzing and anticipating the likely consequences they may face in the near
future. We, as youth, make decisions that have a significant impact on our future.
We appear to be acting in a way that we initially believed to be correct
without attempting to consider what will happen next. However, despite the fact
that we have read numerous accounts of similar events and even spoken to
individuals in a situation akin to our own, we chose to disregard the concepts and
lessons they contained. In the story, structuralism and psychoanalysis are discussed.
The narrative discussed structuralism theory as it relates to the observation and
comprehension of aspects of human existence, culture, and encounter that
demonstrate the comparison between elements in the conceptual system. It also
emphasizes the fact that we are all part of a society. In addition, psychoanalysis was
used in the story to demonstrate Dodong's constant guilt. He carried unresolved
regrets and unshed tears as a result of what he had done previously.
Footnote to Youth is an interesting story. I can really relate to it because I
have seen many young people marry at such a young age. As a teenager, I learned a
lot of life lessons. The first is to live within your means and to listen to your parents
because they know what is best for us. We only have one life, and we should make
the most of it. Living life to the fullest isn't bad, but we should be aware of potential
future events and make sure we don't come to regret our choices. I've also come to
realize the importance of prioritizing. The goal I have set for myself in life is to make
both myself and my parents proud. Instead of being with him and constantly
wondering "what if," I want to achieve my goals with my partner. While the
opportunity to do what you want is rarely present, marriage is always an option. We
ought to benefit from it.
