Martial law includes the temporary substitution of military power for
civilian governance and is usually called in time of war, revolt, or natural
disaster. The military commander of a territory or nation has
unrestricted ability to make and enforce laws when martial law is in
place. At 7:17 pm on September 23, 1972, President Ferdinand Marcos
stated on television and on radio that he had placed the entirety of the
Philippines under martial law. This marked the beginning of a 14-year
period of one-man rule that would practically remain until Marcos was
banished from the nation on February 25, 1986.

This newspaper is considered as a primary sources because any topic in


the media covering an event or phenomenon will consider the
newspaper as the primary source. It is also has unbiased news topics and
reporting is apolitical.
Spoliarium' by Juan Luna
PAINTING
Spoliarium is a painting made by Juan Luna, one of the famous artists way back in
1884. The painting itself is a roman colosseum basement where gladiators thrown in
after combat and tortured to death. It's also described as a venue for public events
under the roman empire. Juan Luna made it since he was an eye witnessed during
that time and wanted the filipino to rise up against political oppression of
colonization. Additionally the gladiators symbolizes our own country.

It is consider as a primary source because it represent what happened in the


Philippine Revolution. The fact that the arts is very detailed and has many
background stories to show how the colonial term of indigenous Filipinos could
excel too.
