Rising Tide: Gender Equality

Gender equality is a human right, but our world faces a persistent

gap in access to opportunities and decision-making power for women
and men.

Globally, women have fewer opportunities for economic

participation than men, less access to basic and higher education,
greater health and safety risks, and less political representation.

Gender equality helps prevent violence against women and girls

and makes our communities safer and healthier. House Bill No. 4982
otherwise known as “SOGIE Equality Act” stipulates an act prohibiting
discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity or
expression (SOGIE).

Reducing inequality strengthens economies and builds stable,

resilient societies that give all individuals the opportunity to fulfill
their potential.
