At the present time, Artificial Intelligence has been one of the most salient and influential

emerging technologies that impact various essential sectors in our daily lives. While some

people believe that Artificial Intelligence is the bane of humanity, others believe that this

technology will have a fundamental influence on various modern geopolitical issues.

Autonomous decision-making performed by AI is one of the principal reasons several

companies decided to employ these technologies. For instance, this recent technology has

been implemented in space exploration, modeling and exploration, agriculture, and other

various sectors. Without a doubt, this technology is revolutionizing and fundamental for

future progress.

Nevertheless, it is indisputable that we take into account various factors that influence these

decisions like bias. Bias is the act of being in favor of something. Trendy Artificial

Intelligence systems have been proven to be biased against an idea, for example, Microsoft

chatbot Tray and COMPAS. However, there is a solution to this problem, which is creating

biased-free machines with the use of inclusive data and having unbiased engineers

programming these machines. Another disadvantage of the implementation of these

autonomous systems is that they could replace human jobs in the future, due to its ability to

outperform human minds. Nevertheless, it is fundamental to consider that these machines

lack emotion, thus removing the emotional aspect that implies having a job.

Although this machinery has its disadvantages and advantages, the advantages clearly

outweigh the disadvantages. The potential these technologies have in decision-making is

outstanding; we just need to know how to use them. Although some people consider this AI a
threat to the human race, that is not the case, instead as Article 1 states “AI will save

humanity”.
