COVID 19 pandemic is the ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19) caused
by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARSCov-2) which was first identified in December
2019 in Wuhan, China (Christensen &Senthilingam, 2020). Online teaching is a tool that can make
teaching-learning processes more student-centered, active, innovative, and flexible (Samantha, 2020). It is
a learning experience in synchronous environments using different devices such as laptops, computers, and
smartphones. In online learning, a student can be anywhere and be independent to learn, interact with
instructors and fellow learners (Sing&Thurman, 2019). In a learning environment, learning content is not
available for live lectures or classes. It is available in different learning for and forums and instant
feedback and immediate response are not possible under such a learning environment (OECD, 2020). A
lockdown is an emergency protocol that prevents people from leaving a given area or people stay where
they are without going anywhere. A challenge means a situation being faced that needs a solution.

The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 is the source of the COVID 19
pandemic, a coronavirus disease outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
(SARSCov-2). A tool that can aid in making teaching and learning more flexible, dynamic, and
student-centered is online instruction. The learning process is synchronous and takes place on a
range of platforms, including laptops, PCs, and smartphones. A student can learn online and
communicate with instructors and other students while doing so from any location. 2019 (Sing &

COVID 19 has ushered in the growing need for online teaching to meet the needs of an ever-growing population
whose education has been disrupted due to school closure. Traditional modes of face-to-face teaching are super
spreads of the disease, hence not ethically and morally right to embrace in the classroom setting (Burns &Sanda,
2020). These learners live in remote locations, work full time and can only study after work, and prefer to learn
independently. The minimum requirement for teachers and students to participate in an online course is to access a
computer/laptop, the internet, have enough data, and the motivation to succeed in a non-traditional class

Flexibility is another important aspect of online learning. Learners in a lockdown situation can schedule or plan
time for completion of the course online. Combining face-to-face teaching with online technology gives rise to
blended learning and flipped classrooms, a learning environment that increases the learning potential of the
students. Students can learn anywhere at any time, thereby developing new skills in the process leading to life-long

learning (Kehinde &Adewakun, 2020). Due to COVID 19 governments have recognized the increasing importance
of online learning in this dynamic world (Shivangi, 2020).

Flexibility is a crucial element of online learning. If there is a lockdown, students can plan ahead or set
aside time to finish the course online. In order to optimize students' learning potential, learning environments
like blended learning and flipped classrooms integrate in-person education with online tools. The ability to learn
at any time and from any location allows students to develop new skills and get ready for a lifetime of learning
(Kehinde &Adewakun, 2020). COVID has aided 19 nations in realizing the rising importance of online
education in the fast-paced world of today. (Shivangi, 2020). (John Michael Cagas)
