- Folk dance represents the rich and long history of Filipinos; our folk dance is a way to appreciate
our ancestors that originally practiced these folk dances as a way of tribute. In a similar way, us,
performing these folk dances represents our tribute and tradition of keeping the heritage alive.

(b) What is the essence of taking Philippine Traditional Dance as a subject in your course?

- Philippine Traditional Dance as a subject is a good way to appreciate our culture. Learning what our
ancestors practiced gives us a sense of how they lived their lives, and this lesson teaches us the
extent of how far us Filipinos have come.

(c) In today’s mode of learning and as a student, how can you promote folk dancing?

- Folk dancing is a great way to showcase your skills in dancing. As a student in this new mode of
learning promoting folk dance through example is a good way to promote folk dancing. If I can
share my experience in folk dance, hopefully I can inspire others to try folk dancing as well.
