RHYTHMIC ACTIVITIES

The international conference on Dance Research introduces the different styles, how dance is
interconnected to our culture and traditions, the system it follows and nature of it’s dynamics. The
conference itself is a foundation that tackles us to dance and culture not only in the Philippines but also
some from the foreign countries that has also have a culture that connected to our everyday lives.

prof. Dr. Mohd Anis, Md Nor give more explanations and enlighten me that clarify my ideas on analysis
of dance specially from the structured movement system of Igal and Pangalay. How mutualism and
commensalism emphasize and relates the tow genres to Igal and pangalay as our culture and what is
symbolizes. Igal and pangalay reflect our common traditions and how it builds a good relation to us. I
therefore reflect that these are imperative to us that this kind of cultural dances has remains intact to
people and to our ancestors, the society and to the prominence all over the world.

“movement of the soul” or inner patterns of thoughts along the Filipino that can be a basis of dance
movements that could be precisely Filipino. “Dance as movements of the soul made visible” it is the
phrase that has an intact to me from his explanations. It features me how dynamic urge from the inner
core can be expressed in concrete dance movements and how it can be a creatively dance that
showcases our styles of living and to who we are as well. I realize how rich and distinctly dance is not
only a movement but more significantly what makes it special is, because of the character it that
represents and showcased.

Ballet dance in Taiwan. The curriculum someone can take, the difficulties face, professional opportunity
and how can its system be elevated or can enhance more to be successful students in ballet dances.
Ballet and some variety of dance is compulsory in Taiwan, where it is a must take subject from
Elementary to Senior High School. This symbolizes that dance is not about gender based. Ballet is not for
girls only nor hip-hop is for boys only. Dance is universal as long as you want to learn and you have a
passion to dance. Dance is an art that has a great expression to ourselves, that is why it is important to
improve its system and give some adjustment.
