PART I: TECHNICAL AND DESCRIPTION

I. RATIONAL (Short introduction and purpose of the undertaking)

Backyard gardening is a way of addressing food security and health issues. The project
aimed at providing opportunities to my family and more opportunity to communicate and good
practice of landscaping as well as help with our own agricultural products and acquire the
necessary knowledge and skills in planting vegetable around the backyard. The scope of this
activity is definitely around our house back yard which the front yard is excluded. And also the
vegetable that were enable to plant are Taro, Cassava and Camote leaves.

With the help of this project, our family helps to build synergy, creating garden
ecosystem. Fruit, vegetables, herbs and useful plants can be grown in a manner that duplicates
the natural ecosystems. And allows the creation the creation of beautiful, diverse, highly
productive and self-sustaining gardens in urban environment.

Taro- usually can used as “sinoan or sinibawang gulay” sour stew, and very useable
vegetables. It can stand on its own superb dishes like “ginataan” and among others.

Cassava- it has a mild and easy to plant and grow. And its leaves and crops has a lot of
nutrients.

Camote leaves- it is unique and easy to grow and anywhere you can see it and use it in
sinigang. It has also a benefit to our high blood that can regulates our blood and make it
balance.

II. OBJECTIVES (what the project specially aims to achieve)

The main objective of this activity can be followed:

 Planting different kinds of vegetables which is the Taro, Casava and Camote that are
available and more favorite of my family.
 Serve as recreational activity for the family out the house
 More engagement and time enable them to bond and build courageous, harmonious
relationship with one another.
 To use the area that has a lot of garbage that can be garden bed and soil preparation

Making a garden near


our home can help us to have
access to supply of fresh
vegetables and fruits. Save time
and money for not going to
market. Have a healthy family –
lower the cost our family with
healthy, organic vegetables.

II. SELF-REFLECTION

Gardening is an art and science of combining plans in such a way that assist the
establishment of favorable interrelations, by creating a garden ecosystem that more then the
sum of its parts. The vegetables is a useful plants were grown in such a way that was doubling
the natural ecosystem and gave the possibility to create a beautiful, varied, highly productive
and self-sustaining garden in urban conditions.

I also learned during these activities on how to plant Taro, Cassava, and Camote
together with my family. This gives me more idea on how is the basic and the right way in
plating of this particular plants. As well as I realized that the soil that has a lot of grass can made
a newborn or make it more sense.
