CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION

WHAT´S CULTURAL COMMUNICATION?

Cultural communications are the sharing of information between people from other
cultures. It is unimportant whether the verbal exchange is successful or not. Even if both
parties attempt the same thing, Transcultural Communication will be regarded.

Due to the lack of a common language, several cultural negotiations take place utilizing
motions and other sign languages (H, 2021) .Rather than focusing on other issues, the
priority is the exchange of knowledge.

A multitude of academic areas have influenced cross-cultural communication. It is

required to avoid misconceptions, which can lead to confrontations between individuals
or groups. Cross-cultural communication fosters trust and allows for cooperation. The
emphasis is on providing the appropriate response rather than the appropriate message.

We have two contexts within intercultural communication as: High-context cultures and
low-context cultures “refers to how an employee's views, opinions, sentiments, and
background influence how they behave inside a specific culture” (Lombardo.J, 2013)

High-context culture: The reverse is true in that trust is the most critical aspect of
business transactions. There are some locations in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa that
have a high context. High-context cultures are collectivist and place a premium on
interpersonal ties.
Low-context culture: This means that companies in these areas have direct, individualistic
personnel who make judgments based on facts. This type of businessperson requires
specifics in contracts and may have trust concerns.

To summarize this will ensure that we start listening to the genuine meaning of what is
being stated rather than taking it at face value. Being aware of our perceptions of others
will lead us to take steps to avoid prejudging or stereotyping people. Accepting people
and their differences, as well as admitting that we don't know everything, will make us
more open to others and their differences, helping us to use contextual knowledge to
better understand. Seeking viewpoints and taking risks to create channels of
communication, as well as being responsibility for our feelings and actions, will help to
reduce miscommunication.
