Session Title: Who is best suited for the job?

Session At the end of the session, learners will be able to:


Objectives:
a) define gender equality and gender stereotyping.

b) Promote gender equality and create a gender inclusive


environment.

Key Concepts: 1. Gender equality means that men and women have equal
rights, both have the same means and opportunities.

2. Gender stereotyping is a fixed idea of what or who we think


people are and how they should behave based on their sex or
gender.

3. Gender does not determine your ability to do a job.

4. Both men and women are equally capable of doing the same
job, if they are given the right skills, knowledge and
qualification.

Exploration minutes Show a picture of gender equality and ask questions
about it.

What can you see in the picture?

What is gender equality? How do they differ with gender


stereotyping?

How can you show respect for both genders?

Activity: Who is best suited for the job?


In this activity, the learners will be divided into
groups. Make sure that each group has boys and girls.
They will brainstorm and decide whether certain jobs are
applicable to men only, women only or both. Let them
briefly discuss the reasons for their answers.

Direction: Put a check mark (/) on the appropriate
