Insights or Realizations

The LAC session in the afternoon introduced a more complex idea on how a teacher
should instill in learners the love for reading. It gave us a refresher on how important
the motive questions are and the motivation itself before introducing a new story to
read.

The LAC session stressed the nature and importance of reading comprehension, set the
purpose for comprehending text, formulate questions and plan a discussion covering
the various levels of comprehension, and designing activities that develop reader
response.

Lessons Learned

Developing reading comprehension is important for kids because it is a

fundamental skill that forms the basis for all other academic subjects.

Reading exposes children to a wide range of words and phrases,

expanding their vocabulary. The more they read, the more words they
encounter, which enhances their ability to understand and express
themselves in both spoken and written language.

Teachers play a big role in leading our learners to good reading habits
and improving their vocabulary and comprehension skills. Using
various strategies to cater to the different learning needs of our children
will bring positive results in reading.

The LAC session conducted was a very good refresher to us, teachers, who are already in
the service for a couple of years. I am very thankful we had that LAC session since it
gave me valuable insights.

First, it made me realize that humans as we are, we tend to become lax as

years pass by thinking that we are already experts in the field. However, this
mentality must be changed. We must not forget that teachers hold a great
responsibility to the school, to the community, and even to the profession itself.

Second, the Code of Ethics for teachers puts premium on ensuring quality
education to all Filipino learners. This implies that we must upgrade ourselves by
pursuing further studies to improve efficiency and strengthen competence.

Third, the Code of Ethics sets as a reminder that we are most privileged to be
in the noblest profession on earth. Hence, we must not engage in anything that
would give a moral blemish to our profession.

Lastly, reviewing the Code of Ethics has given me a fervent desire to become

a better and a more efficient teacher who always keeps in mind that I AM AN AGENT
IN BUILDING AGOOD NATION.
