ENGLISH A1 TASK 5 TO 8

Task 5

Write a paragraph about your neighborhood. Describe what type of neighborhood is, what type of
places are or aren't in your area. (Unit 8 - 50 to 70 words)

Solution

My neighborhood is called Diana Turbay and it is a very quiet neighborhood in some parts it is a bit
dangerous, it has a park near my house next to my house there is a restaurant and in front of the
restaurant there is a pharmacy on the main street there are many shops of clothes.

Comments: Nice job, take into account, to separate ideas is necessary punctuation in all the
green marks. And also the blue one, ‘shops of clothes’ that is spanish, the correct one is ‘clothes
shops’

Task 6

Imagine a friend from Canada is coming to visit you for the first time. You and your best friend are
meeting him/her at the airport. Write an email describing yourself and your friend. (Unit 9 50 to
90 words)

Solution

Dear Karen

Next Sunday, we will pick you up at the airport with a friend we will be next to the door of the
airport elevator my friend will wear a leather jacket with a white shirt and a blue jean and wears
glasses he has short hair and her dark skin and I am going to be wearing a pink dress and a woolen
jacket and I have glasses and I have long black hair.

Comment: Well done, still the punctuation part in order to separate ideas.

Task 7

Write an email to someone you haven't seen for a long time. Include three things you have done
since you last saw this person. (Unit 10 - 70 to 100 words)

Solution

Hello Emily

how have you been? we haven't seen each other for a long time we had a lot of fun what have you
done since then? See that I finished school a year ago and I have been studying at the Smart
academy the beginning of the year and I almost finished the first book and I am also working in a
clothing store and it has been very good I hope to see you soon.

Comment: Well done, remember the green marks are punctuation, and the orange one is
grammar, in this case, when we are talking about ‘the beginning of…’ it is necessary to have the
preposition at.

Task 8

13 - 70 to 100 words)

Solution

Last weekend we went with my family to Takuma a Japanese restaurant I ate an octopus in sauce
with rice and French fries the rice was a bit simple but everything was very delicious to drink I had
a natural blackberry juice for dessert I ate ice cream from Chocolate everything was very delicious
and I would recommend the Takuma restaurant because its service is very attentive and I hope
they will not damage the service.

Comment: Great job here! HAve in mind till the punctuation part, if you read it even in spanish,
without separating those ideas, it sounds kind of strange. Keep rocking!
