YOU WILL NEED ABBREVIATIONS

4mm hook ch – chain
dc - double crochet
WE USED: dc2tog – double crochet 2 stitches together
Empire, Pistachio (front page image) rnd - round
Kelly Green & Fuchsia Purple (this page) sc - single crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)

PATTERN:

Ch 5 and join with a slip st.

Rnd 1: 3ch, 3dc, 3ch, 4dc, 3ch, 4dc, 3ch. Join with a slip
stitch to beginning of rnd.

Rnd 2: Slip stitch to next 3ch space, 3dc, 3ch, 4dc into this
space, 1ch, (4dc, 3ch, 4dc into next 3ch space, 1ch) x 2, join
with a slip stitch.

Rnd 3: Slip stitch to next 3ch space, 3ch, 3dc, 4ch, 4dc into
this space, (1sc, into middle of dc group from last rnd,
4dc into next 3ch space, 1dc into middle of dc group from
previous rnd, 4dc, 4ch, 4dc into next 3ch space) x 2, 1ch,
now go straight to form bottom of tree - 4dc into next 3ch
space, 1ch, join to beginning of rnd with a slip stitch.

Make Trunk
Turn tree over to wrong side and slip stitch across chain
and last dc group just made, 3ch 3dc across dc group
from last row, turn tree over, 3ch, 3dc across dc group
from last row.

Fasten off and sew in any loose ends.

With contrast colour (more than 1 if you wish) embroider

French knots on tree randomly or in a sequence if you
prefer to resemble baubles.
