Schedule for Second round of BE/BTech In-Person Counselling/ Documents

Checking/ Hostel Allotment (Based on JEE Main – 2022 Merit)

The second round of In-person Counselling for vacant seats will be held on Oct 17-19, 2022. The
candidates who have already applied and are fulfilling the eligibility conditions, as laid down in Institute
Prospectus available at https://admission.thapar.edu, can attend the counselling.
1. The candidates who have been allotted a branch already, have paid the fee, and are interested
to change their branch can attend the counselling subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
2. The candidates who have withdrawn their admission and also those candidates who have not
been offered admission so far, can also attend the counselling. Such candidates are required to
bring total fee.
3. If the document verification has already been done during the previous round of in-person
counselling, candidates are required to carry the admission letter only. Other candidates are
required to carry the documents as mentioned at the end of this counselling notice.

During this counselling round, New Admission/Branch Upgradation against the available seats will be
done on the basis of JEE Main – 2022 merit.

After offering the seats to all the eligible candidates on the basis of JEE Main – 2022 merit, vacant
seats (if any) will be offered to eligible candidates on the basis of 10+2 PCM merit.
VACANT SEAT STATUS
Vacant seat status will be displayed on the website by 7:00 PM on 10-10-2022.

FEE TO BE PAID
Fee payable at the time of Admission (Excluding Hostel Fee) (Admission Fee + Semester Fee):

For CSE (Patiala & Derabassi Campus) / COBS/COE : Rs. 2,41,900/-

For all other branches : Rs. 2,18,300/-

HOSTEL ALLOCATION
Students interested in taking hostel accommodation will be allocated hostel during In-Person
Counselling on the basis of the merit. Hostel Rent and Mess Fee is to be paid only after the hostel
allocation is done. Students may occupy his/her room on the same day of In-Person Counselling.

In addition to the Hostel Rental & other charges (mentioned above), the candidates are also required to
deposit Rs. 19,000/- as Mess Food advance, as per details given below:

Note: -
1. After offering the seats to all the General Punjab category candidates, vacant seats (if any) will
be converted to Outside Punjab quota.
2. Candidates are required to browse website https://admission.thapar.edu/ for update on vacant
seat status. Candidates reporting on 18-19th Oct, 2022 should check the availability of seats on
17th – 18th Oct, 2022 (9:00 PM) respectively before coming to the Institute.
3. Seats are available for reserved category candidates.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BE/BTECH ‘IN-PERSON COUNSELLING’
1. Personal presence of the candidate/authorised representative during counselling/admission is
essential for all eligible candidates seeking admission.
2. The allotment of discipline at the time of counselling/admission will be made on the basis of the
seats available in a particular discipline and category at that instance of time, the order of
preferences for various disciplines given by the candidate, and his/her merit according to JEE
Main rank. The candidates appearing for the counselling shall have the option of either retaining
the preference order given during the online counselling or can submit fresh preference order.
3. A candidate who reports late for admission during counselling will be offered a seat in the
discipline where the seats are available at that instance of time/day.
4. If a candidate is offered admission and he/she does not deposit the prescribed fees immediately
after selection, the offer so made shall be treated as cancelled and the seat will be offered to the
candidate next in order of merit. No correspondence or appeal in this regard will be entertained.
