A HOLISTIC APPROACH

VISION IMPACT
A change in self-perception and To better illustrate the impact of
external perception toward a our endeavor, we have designed
new self-confidence, shaped by the 3E4A Impact Cycles. As a
young hopefuls. Added value manifestation of our vision, the
overall system of all three Impact
through future technology in
Cycles, which consider the levels

serves us equally as a motivation
sustainable national economies and a compass.
on an equal footing with global

partners. Prospects and It is a self-reinforcing system;

potential. all that is needed is an initial

impulse at the university level.
Above all, one thing: All this in This impulse has to be provided
Africa, for Africa and by Africa - by the African students and PhD
as quickly as possible. This is students themselves. Our job is
our vision and with "3 E's" we to make their work a little bit
strive for it. easier.
EDUCATION

The results of the United Nations Development

Program (UNDP) survey of Africans in Europe who
were classified as "illegal" migrants show that a
lack of prospects at home is often the cause of
flight (graphic: "Nothing").

By supporting and accompanying young African

undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students at
African universities, we help to create
perspectives in the form of the most sustainable
support of all: Education!

Education is the most powerful tool a human

being can possess. In this way, we make a direct
contribution to SDG 4 "Quality Education".

"What would have made You change

your mind about coming to Europe?"
EMPOWERMENT

Africa is a beautifully diverse, majestic and

young continent. There is so much potential just
waiting to be awakened. For this, it needs its own
role models who carry the hope.

We contribute with our association to create the

framework in which the potential of African
students is fostered and they can realize their
own ideas to develop African solutions to African
challenges.
Through a focus on balanced teams, we also
address SDG 5 "Gender Equality".

ECOFRIENDLINESS

There is power in harmony, all the more so in

existential relationships such as that between
humanity and its environment. This is
particularly true in Africa, where the changing
climatic conditions are having a strong impact.
Research and business will only have a future if
they are mindful of this.

For this reason, we only support projects that aim

to achieve energy transition, climate change
adaptation or mitigation and thus contribute to
SDG 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy," SDG 12
"Responsible Consumption and Production,"
and/or SDG 13 "Climate Action."

MEASURABLE
HOW WE QUANTIFY OUR IMPACT

Our highest principle is: The empowerment of the students is always in the
foreground! This requires above all a leap of faith and as much creative
freedom as possible.

Since the quality of the projects, the realization of our vision and a
responsible handling of donations are also very important to us, we have
integrated various mechanisms for evaluation into the project process and
our internal structure. These include the following impact KPIs (Key
Performance Indicators), which reflect our targeted Input-Output-Outcome-
Impact chain.

Water Scarcity in Rural
Regions of Namibia
Namibia, a country in southern Africa with more than twice the area of
Germany and a population of about three million people. The climatic
conditions of the country are significantly influenced by the Namib
Desert in the west and the Kalahari Desert in the east. In the often
sparsely populated rural regions affected by these conditions, water
supply is an essential issue that is becoming increasingly urgent in the
context of global climate change. Agriculture and food supply, the
livelihoods of large portions of the local population, are also directly
affected.

In the students' words, the goal of the project is as follows:

"We will Identify possible problems and challenges the communities
might have regarding water security and report on those problems.
We will research the best possible solutions to those problems and
implement them with the help of the community.
We also aim to empower the local community by setting up educational
workshops."

Supported by Engagement Global with funds from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
"Shocking events occur in Africa on a daily basis
and I need to be the start of the revolution that
signifiacntly impacts the African youth positively
and envokes more of these initiatives"
KK NGENOMESHO, TEAMLEADER NAM-001

"I believe that this is an initiative that could greatly

change some of the lives of struggling namibians for
the better and I would like to help make that
possible"

"I am Delasi de Souza, I call Ghana my first home and Namibia my
second.

After spending my childhood in Namibia, I am happy to be part of a

project where I can work with Namibian students to find African
solutions to African challenges with climate change. I began my
environmental journey in 2014 and incessantly relish learning new
facets about the environment. For this reason, I look forward to
exchanging knowledge and learning from the students I mentor in
this project."

"I am Bharti Teotia from India, a passionate Agri-environmental
Engineer, living in Germany, and working as product manager for
agri-industry.

Designing strategies, solving problems, discovering new approaches

– those are things that inspire me. I have extensive experience in
agriculture-environmental issues for sustainable development,
which I gained while working with CLAAS and studying in India and
Germany. Looking forward to contributing my gained knowledge to
this “Made in Africa” Project, I would like to learn about the agri-
environmental challenges in the Oshana region, and this is my
foremost inspiration. I strongly believe in experimentation and
diversity to exploit the potentials."

In Ghana, we are currently working on an exciting

cooperation format with our partners from Start.Up

The concept: We will organize a joint project
competition. Local students can submit their project
ideas in advance and apply to participate. A selection
will be intensively accompanied by all participating
organizations over several weeks in the further
development of their idea. The final stage is a pitch,
which is evaluated by a jury. The best project ideas
receive direct financial support as prize money, as
well as the opportunity for further support.

CMR-002: New Streets from Old Tires

2.000/12.000€*

Through a presentation by a delegation of 3 E's 4

Africa in March at the École Nationale Supérieure
Polytechnique (ENSP) in Yaoundé, one of Cameroon's
top technical universities, we were able to make
direct contact with very active local changemakers in
the field of sustainable research and business. One of
these individuals, a PhD student at ENSP, is
researching ways to recycle tires. Together with his
team, he is pursuing the idea of shredding the
discarded plastic products, processing them further
and using them in the form of a composite structure
for road construction. By substituting concrete in
particular, he hopes to achieve massive savings in
emissions and resources, as well as a strong
economic incentive that will drive the necessary road
construction in Cameroon.

ANTI-RACISM
OUR STATEMENT

We are a non-political association. Our instruments of change

are the promotion of education, sustainability and youth
empowerment in Africa. We are not an association that
focuses on anti-racism education in general or in Germany in
particular.

However, we are ALWAYS anti-racist - not only, but mainly

because of our strong African identity. This is absolutely out
of the question!

We are an association of diversity and variety, whose

members therefore do not close their eyes to the issue of
racism. On the contrary, several of us have already had many,
often painful experiences with this structural evil. We are
therefore actively dealing with it. Both the BIPoC (Black,
Indigenous, People of Color) and the white part of our
members.

For this we plan to organize internal workshops for anti-

racism education. We also have an anti-racism officer in the
association, Wilfriede Ayodele, who is also on the board of the
Autonomous BIPoC Department of the University of Cologne.

As soon as we notice that we are confronted with clearly

recognizable post-colonial thinking or strong racist
prejudices, we will stop communication and also possible
cooperation.

Nonetheless, we are very optimistic and hopeful about our

current society, so we are very much looking forward to
meeting you!
