Abstract

From observation and survey of universities we notice that 80% students don’t through the waste
in dustbins which creates bad image on universities. By the Ministry of environment a campaign
name of “My waste is my responsibility” is started in all Rawalpindi universities to reduce
diseases and character building of student by using different types of dustbins in the universities.

A team is formed in all universities who charge fine 400 rupees from those students who through
the waste materials in class rooms, cafeteria, gardens and outside the offices. From each
department 5 members are selected and sweepers and CDA also the members. The 45% of fine
gave to the team members and remaining utilize in buying dustbins, CDA for picking waste from
universities and for promotion. To promote the campaign posters are used and through
seminars, character building skits, celebrating different Environment related days. For updates
of the campaign a web page is made on university website for comments and problems of
students related to campaign.

Introduction:

From observation and survey of universities we notice that mostly student’s don’t through the
waste in dustbins which creates bad image on universities.

It is University cleanness campaign by the Ministry of environment, covering all universities of


Rawalpindi, to clean Universities rooms, cafeteria, gardens, and offices. The campaign motto is
cleanliness program in universities and in the name of “MY WASTE MY RESPOSIBILTY”.
Brand ambassador is Mitho.

In this campaign a teams are formed in the universities who visit inside their universities and fine
those students who doesn’t through the waste material in dustbins. Every team member has fine
slip who fines those students who doesn’t follow the rules. From every department we have 5
members at least, each member wear special cap, on the cap special logo of our Campaign is
formed.

Product:

Our core product is cleanness program in the universities.The main purpose of this product for
the students is character building and reduces diseases.

Differenttypes of attractive dust bins are in the universities. These dustbins are having five parts
for different materials one for papers, for glass, for aluminum cans, for plastic and for rubbish..

The purpose for using different dustbins for different materials to recycle them easily, using this
method there is no extra needed for separating waste materials

Price:

 When a student is caught by thronging waste in the classrooms, near offices, in gardens
and cafeteria the team member fine 400 rupees and gave the fine slip to that student.
 This 45% of fine is give the team members for their work and remaining fine is used to
buy the dustbins, CDA for picking the waste from the universities and some amount is
store for the different environment programs, seminar and concerts.

Competitors:

 The direct competitors are sweepers in the universities and indirect CDA.
 We make the strategy in which we involve those competitors in the campaign for better
results.

Some students follow the rules quickly who are decent students or some poor students due to fair
of fine. Some students follow after giving one or two times giving fine and some students when
mostly all students follow this.

In the marketing mix, this is the Place P.

 Our campaign is target to universities.


 This campaign is starting from most populated or educated area “Rawalpindi
Universities.”
 We make a team which consists
of members. Those assigned a
specific task and send to
different targeted universities.
Those entire members are
honest and energetic
 Display banners, pamphlets
and poster in Flash areas of universities Including (Cafeteria, Main Gate, Auditorium,
Near Labs, at entrance of every departments, Libraries etc.). We planned properly to
utilized there resources. Which sitmuless for this campaign.
 Our all work is more authentic. Before start the work our all documents sign with Voice
Chancellor and Government.
 Our all resources are attractive which catch the attention of viewers.
 Placement is satisfactory where maximum student reported.
The distribution channel of our campaign includes the atmospherics surrounding the exchange
process of any relevant things and complains, as it is follows:

Branding:

Our brand name is “My Waste My Responsibility”.


Our logo (Mitho) is our identity. Awareness the
campaign students through poster, pamphlets,
seminars and skits. Main purpose of our campaign
cleanliness in universities and further work on
character building, universities image and reduce
the rate of diseases. The campaign slogan is Team
Up To Clean Up.

Promotion:

Promotion is most important for marketing. Marketing through,

 We promote our campaign through advertisement in different areas of universities.


 Display banners, pamphlets and poster in Flash areas of universities Including
(Cafeteria, Main Gate, Auditorium, Near Labs, at entrance of every departments,
Libraries etc.).
 We also promote our campaign through conducting different seminars. Where Scholars
and Post Doctors comes from different areas of Universities whose highlights the

importance of this campaign and how to reduce the diseases. By the help of seminars
many students are motivated.
 In every events conduct the universities small portion is related to this campaign which
based on skits and character. Which motivate the every pupil’s.

 Celebrate cleanliness as International Day. On this day every student and staff of
universities cleans our
class rooms,
departments, Labs,
Library and whole
university area. Which
prove we are Muslim
Nation Cleanliness is
our duty.

Cleaning and organizing is a practice not a project

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH)said:

“Cleanliness is half the faith (Emaan).”

Conclusion

In the light of above portion we conclude that through this campaign we decrease the land and
air pollution. When decrease the land and air pollution also reduce the number of diseases.
People become more habitual of cleanliness. This campaign based on solely at universities level
by introduced similar, other campaign in different areas we can increase the level of cleanliness
in our society.

Recommendations:

 Government should encourage NGOs to carry out this campaign MY WASTE MY


RESPONSIBILTY.
 This campaign is target to any other place.
 The Small fund coming from the selling of plastic bottles and papers could be used in the
maintenance of the material facility of the Universities.
 We should take care about the wastes of our daily lives and put in only in the dustbin for
proper disposal and prevent infections to get spread in the home or surrounding.
