Introduction
 Background of Problem:
The everyday and everywhere use of chemical-based all-purpose cleaners has become quite
common in households and commercial settings. These cleaners are designed to provide a
convenient solution for various cleaning tasks, but there are many potential risks associated with
them. Despite being costly these cleaners have led to the significant environmental concerns and
have adverse negative effects on human health. They contain various toxic chemicals such as
ammonia, chlorine, bleach and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) depending upon which
these all-purpose cleaners irritate our skin, eyes, nose and throat, contributing to chronic
respiratory problems, allergic reactions and headaches. And they can be highly poisonous if
swallowed.

Similarly, when they are flushed down drains or disposed of improperly, they contaminate water
bodies, harming aquatic ecosystems and eventually disrupting the natural balance of ecosystem
due to air and water pollution they cause. Furthermore, the production and disposal of these
chemical cleaners also contribute to the overall carbon footprint and waste generation.

 Scope of Problem:
The harmful effects of chemical-based all-purpose cleaners affect individuals, households, and
the wider ecosystem. Many consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the dangers
associated with these products and are seeking safer alternatives. This presents a significant
market opportunity for eco-friendly and sustainable cleaning solutions. By developing and
promoting products that prioritize human health and environmental sustainability, we can cater
to a growing market of health-conscious consumers and environmentally aware businesses. It
allows us to position our business as a leader in the green cleaning industry, providing effective,
safe, and sustainable alternatives that meet the cleaning needs of various sectors.

Turning the problem into opportunity, we can utilize fruit peels as a natural and biodegradable
alternative in order to promote environmental sustainability, reduce health hazards, minimize
waste, and foster a healthier and greener lifestyle. Fruit peels can quickly dissolve in natural
surroundings since they are organic materials, as opposed to man-made chemicals and have
natural cleaning characteristics. It is also a common practice that fruit peels are frequently
thrown out as trash, which adds to the growth of landfills and the emission of greenhouse gases.
Thus, the chance to reduce waste and advance circular economy principles is presented by using
fruit peels as a major component of an all-purpose cleaner.

 Problem Statement:
How can we address the excessive and widespread use of chemical-based all-purpose cleaners by
developing and promoting alternative, eco-friendly cleaning solutions that are safe for human
health, environmentally sustainable, and effective in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene?

Business Analysis
1. Form (type) of business- “Entrepreneurship"
We identified problems of our community that were toxic chemicals cleaners that corrodes
surfaces after few usages and are harmful for our environment, fruit wastes that are source of
disease-causing microorganisms. So, we turned these problems into an opportunity to operate
our creative, problem solving business idea of creating all-purpose cleaner that is organic as well
as environmental friendly.

2. Product- “Organic and eco-friendly All-purpose cleaner"

3. Product Features:
 All-purpose cleaner that deep clean almost every surface without damaging them like
usual chemical cleaners.
 Toxic chemicals free.
 Leaves fruity fragrance after use.
 Cheap and easily available.
 Organic, eco-friendly and waste reducing for our environment.

4. Suppliers- Houses of local community, fruit markets, fruit and juice shops, fruit orchids
etc.

5. Competitors- Local brands of chemical cleaners that are cheap but not eco-friendly and
organic. The use of citrus peels and fruit waste as the primary ingredients provides a unique
selling proposition for this product.

6. Consumers-Customers who care about the environment and value sustainability and
natural ingredients are among the product's target market. This can include people who are
concerned about their health, have chemical allergies or sensitivities, or prefer eco-friendly
products for their homes. Local community including housewives, sanitation workers,

school/office/hospital caretakers, offices, restaurants, hotels and other public spaces such as
railway stations and bus stops etc.

Market Analysis
1. Price:
Compared to traditional cleaning solutions, organic and eco-friendly goods may have a higher
price point, thus it's important to effectively communicate the product's value proposition. But it
can be avoided by bulk purchasing and streamline packaging, which will eventually lower the
price of the cleaner.

2. Placement:
The product can be distributed through the following channels to efficiently reach the target
market:
 Online retailers: could take advantage of the rising popularity of online shopping by
offering their products directly to customers through e-commerce platforms.
 Brick-and-Mortar Stores: To make the product available to customers, form partnerships
with nearby natural food stores, health stores, and eco-friendly businesses.
 Commercial Supply: Work with commercial cleaning supply businesses to provide the
product to establishments like corporations and educational organisations

3. Profit management:
 Cost control: Put your attention on cutting production costs while maintaining the sustainability
or quality of your products. Investigate opportunities for locating raw materials at reasonable
costs, improving production methods, and streamlining operations to cut down on waste.
 Effective Supply Chain: Ensure prompt delivery of both raw materials and completed goods by
optimising your supply chain management. Think about working with vendors who value the
environment as much as you do and provide affordable solutions.
 Pricing Strategy: Determine a pricing for your surface cleaner that is both competitive and
profitable. Conduct market research to understand the sector's pricing trends and modify your
pricing strategy as necessary. Recall the benefits of your eco-friendly, organic goods, which can
justifiably cost a little more than comparable conventional products.

4. Promotion:
Successful marketing techniques can include the following to raise brand awareness and spur
demand for the product:
 Digital marketing: Use social networking sites, content marketing, and online advertising
to reach people who care about the environment.
 Packaging: Create aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sustainable packaging that
emphasises the product's all-natural ingredients and positive effects on the environment.

3
 Influencer Partnerships: To promote the product and reach a larger audience, team up
with environmental influencers, bloggers, and vloggers.
 Eco-Events and Trade Shows: Participate in environmentally friendly events and trade
exhibits to display your goods and meet retailers and potential customers.

Operational plan:
Input or raw Material selection:
• The raw materials required for our business are the waste of citrus fruits like peels and
rind waste of oranges, grapefruits, lemons etc. The source of these waste products will be the
restaurants, fruit markets, household waste (if we keep separate bin for fruit waste material).

• Other than fruit wastes, we require water for proper dilution, small amount of
essential oils for the fragrance., jiggery, borax and sodium bicarbonate.

Research and development:

• The required research regarding the raw materials, the transformational reactions
taking place, necessary precautions and requirements to fulfil all the standards.
• It also includes the investigation process regarding which type of machinery i.e.,
fermenter is required to carry out the process and all others procurement measures
required to produce the desired product.

Training and education of the employees:

• After the hiring process, all the employees will have to go through a training
programs in which they will learn how to operate the fermenters and will also be
educated on work ethics and other basic stuff.

Manufacturing process:
• This process requires a production design according to which the whole process will
be carry out. Identifying required amount of all the raw materials needed to mix in an
appropriate concentration to produce the product in accordance with the industry
standards.
• Also, implementation of necessary control measures to insure the safety of everyone
throughout the manufacturing process.

4
Packaging and labelling of product:
• As the whole theme of our business is to produce an environment friendly cleaner, the
packing will also be in accordance of this theme. The packaging will be in recyclable and
biodegradable bottled that can also be reused.
• Labelling will include all the raw materials, the nature of the product, necessary
precautionary measures and directions to use the product. In addition to this, an
awareness massage to emphasize on being eco-friendly and sustainable practices will also
be included to be coherent with theme.

Supply chain management:

• At the start of business, we will acquire the suppliers by buying 2-3 loading vehicles with
2 assigned to supply the raw materials and 1 will be responsible of delivering the
products.
• With the expansion in the business, we will either sign a contract with trusted supplier
company or expand our own supplying channels.

Customer feedback mechanism and room for improvement:

• Creation of a webpage and try to connect with the customers as much as possible so that
it will be easy to get their feedbacks and know about their requirements. Always be ready
to have a room for improvement and get updated with the market trend and competitors.

Compliance with Standards and Regulations:

• Stay updated with relevant regulations and certifications related to organic cleaning
products.

Conclusion:
So, concluding this business proposal I would like to state that synthetic cleaners can cause issues such as
allergic reactions as people may react to certain chemicals that are a part of that artificial cleaner.

So, to avoid such difficult but avoidable situations I think that it is time we try to find alternative eco-
friendly solutions to our day to day problems. This organic cleaner made of fruit peels can be a great
example which would help us reduce waste, is cost effective and provide us with a healthy and clean
environment
