SHEET 2: Projection of Line

(Parallel to both plane, perpendicular to one plane and parallel to another plane and line
inclined to one plane and parallel to another plane)

Q-1 A line AB has its end A 20 mm above HP and 20 mm in front of VP. It is inclined at 45o
to VP and parallel to HP. Draw its projections by considering the distance between the end
projectors to be 50 mm. Also find the true length of the line.
Q-2 The front view of a 75 mm long line measures 55 mm. The line is parallel to HP and one
of its end is in VP and 25 mm above HP. Draw the projections of the line and determine its
inclination with VP.
Q-3 Two pegs fixed on a wall are 4.5 m apart. The distance between the pegs measured parallel
to the floor is 3.6 m. If one peg is 1.4 m above the floor, find the height of the second peg and
the inclination of the line joining the two pegs with floor.
Note: 1 m = 10 mm.
SHEET 3: Lines Inclined to Both Planes and Traces of Line
1. A line AB of length 60 mm is inclined at 45o to HP and 30o with VP. The end A is 20 mm
above HP and 25 mm in front of VP. Draw the projections.
2. The end A of a 75 mm long line AB is 20 mm above HP and 25 mm in front of VP. The
line is inclined at 30o to HP and top view makes 45o with VP. Draw the projections of
the line and find the true inclinations with VP.
3. A line PQ 70 mm long and measures 55 mm in top view. The length of its front view is 45
mm. It’s one end P is 10 mm in front of VP and 10 mm above HP. Draw the projections
of the line and determine its inclinations with HP and VP and find its traces.
