This document describes a CT Analyzer that can summarize key performance parameters of a current transformer (CT) with the push of a button. It injects low test signals into the CT's secondary side to determine the CT's equivalent circuit parameters and identify relevant accuracy and performance metrics like ratio, phase, resistance, excitation characteristics, and error over different currents and burdens. The CT Analyzer can also evaluate the CT according to standards, determine unknown nameplate parameters, demagnetize the CT after testing, and provide an immediate good or bad evaluation.

How CT Analyzer works Range of measurements
>> Injects low test signals into secondary side of the CT >> Ratio and phase accuracy >> Determines the CT‘s equivalent circuit parameters >> Winding resistance >> Identifies all relevant CT performance parameters >> Excitation characteristics (knee points) >> Displays all relevant parameters of the CT and >> Composite error (ALF, ALFi, FS, FSi, Vb) its accuracy at different currents and burdens >> Burden impedance >> Evaluates the CT according to the selected standard >> Transient CT classes and parameters >> Determines unknown CT nameplate parameters (TPS, TPX, TPY and TPZ type CTs) >> Demagnetizes the CT after the test >> Transient dimensioning factor (Ktd) >> If missing/unknown: CT type, class, ratio, knee point, power factor, nominal burden, operating burden, primary and secondary winding resistance >> Remanence and residual magnetism >> Immediate good/bad evaluation
