Pride and prejudice

The novel is about some girls who faced an ethical dilemma about
their wedding. Their mother always just wanted them to marry them
off. Mr. Bennett also regretted his lack of effort in his daughters to
make them into women of depth and good character.

It's important who you marry because the reputation of your husband
will have an impact on your status. It was the primary goal of women
to find a rich husband. One of the characters Charlotte married Mr
collins who was a gateway for her to a higher status. She didn’t like
him much but her marriage was solely dependent on material reasons.
Some criticized her for her choice but others praised her for being
sensible instead of falling for some stupid fantasies. The ethical
dilemma of the novel is about whether should girls give priority to
their values and character while finding a life partner or should they
rather find comfort because of the high status of men.

One of the five daughters Elizabeth was also forced to seek marriage
for convenience and economic activity but she wanted to marry for
love. She was smart, sharp, and most admired by her father. She had
no greed in her heart and she preferred a man with moral values and
good character. She is often sad because of the silly behavior of her
mother, and sisters and the social pressure to marry a financially
stable husband. The climax of the novel is when Mr. Darcy who was
good-looking, wealthy, and a man of character falls for Elizabeth
because of her “light “and beauty. He found the way Elizabeth thinks
to be very attractive. He preferred to marry someone beautiful from
the inside. Her sisters who only value wealth were not as happier as
Elizabeth. Her sisters were also under social pressure and they are not
portrayed as villainous. The novel left the choice to readers to decide
who made the right choice about the wedding.
