Context Houses
The world without the internet is unimaginable. That’s why the importance of the
internet should be discussed. Our daily life tasks, communication, and enjoyment depend
chiefly on the internet. As per its definition, the internet connects users with different
types of mobile phones and computer systems. The sharing and exchanging of ideas,
information, and news all need an internet connection. The internet connects computers
and businesses, people, government schemes, lives, and stories worldwide.
Social Capital
1. In one-brief paragraph, discuss how the pandemic led people to rely on ICTs to sustain their
offline social capital resources. Cite examples if you must. (5 pts.)
ICT is gives us the credibility and chance to explore further instances during a situation
wherein we lack of resources. It is one of theain reasons why we are able to
communicate nowadays even without a having a chance to meet each other face to face.
It also helps us to study more and gain knowledge even with this pandemic. ICT is one of
the main reason why confusion isn't fostering. Besides the fact that it is also the reason
why were surviving today, it makes life easier for us too.
The Internet and Civic Engagement
1. List five (5) reasons why one should practice civic engagement. (5 pts.)
1 Civic engagement helps citizens to become aware of their community's needs and
how problems could be solved.
2 Motivates them to become more involved in politics through voting, sharing their
opinions and encouraging political actions that support their values.
4 To promote the quality of life in community, through both political and non-political
processes.
5 Improve citizens' knowledge and skills in problem solving. Participants learn about
the issues in-depth. Greater knowledge allows them to see multiple sides of the
problem. Citizens can practice communication and decision-making skills.
