What is the relationship of the physical characteristic of the region to its natural
resources? Answer in five (5) sentences.
● The physical characteristics of the region are related to its natural
resources in the sense that the physical characteristics of the region
comprise its natural resources. Because it conveys the process and
precise information that links it. According to my perspective, natural
resources cannot exist without the presence of physical characteristics of
each region, because physical characteristics contain information such as
location, climate, type of soil, local population, and natural resources that
are important to the region. As a result, if there were no physical
characteristics, there would almost certainly be no natural resources.
Indeed! The physical characteristics of the region describe the details of
natural resources, which is why the region has a strong interaction with
one another.

Activity 4. Reflection Paper Writing

Reflect on the role of Indigenous Peoples in preserving biodiversity in Asia. Mention
in your 3-paragraph reflection paper the significant roles of these people.

Most indigenous peoples suffer disproportionately from biological

diversity loss and environmental degradation due to their subsistence economies
and spiritual ties to lands and territories. Environmental degradation, large-scale
industrial activity, toxic waste, conflicts and forced migration, as well as changes
in land-use and land-cover, endangers their lives, survival, development
opportunities, knowledge, environment, and health conditions (such as
deforestation for agriculture and extractives for example). Climate change is
exacerbating these difficulties.

The contributions of indigenous peoples are critical in planning and

implementing ecological solutions. Traditional knowledge and legacy can help
with environmental evaluations and long-term ecosystem management. For
example, the sustainable production and use of indigenous and traditional foods
has incalculable advantages for natural resources and ecosystems, contributes
to a more sustainable and healthier diet, and aids in the mitigation of climate
change.

Long before the conservation movement, many indigenous communities

had their own ideas about ecology and care. For generations, they have been
studying environmental changes and recognizing patterns. And this is precisely
the type of information and experience required to combat climate change and
limit its detrimental effects.

Activity 5 . Audio-visual Presentation

You are a SK Kagawad in your barangay and you were tapped by your
Barangay Captain to prepare for the visit of possible donors from Japan. The
Barangay officials were supposed to show the place to these visitors but due to the
current pandemic, their visit was postponed. The barangay instead decided to show
them the place through an audio-visual presentation. You were task to make the
presentation which shows your place’s physical characteristics including your natural
resources and native inhabitants. (You can do this as a vlog or short video
presentation.)

The presentation can be in a powerpoint or video format. The maximum length

should only be three (3) minutes. Please be guided with rubric below.
Rubric:
