WhatsApp+
WhatsApp+
FEATURES:
2. Another feature that WhatsApp plus would include would be the option of automated and scheduled chats.

❑ Automated chats- You can set keywords and if those keywords are seen anywhere, WhatsApp will automatically send a
message set by you.
❑ Scheduled chats- You can schedule chats for the future, let’s say you want to send someone a good morning tomorrow
and you’re a late riser so Just schedule a message for the next morning and WhatsApp will send it automatically

FEATURES:
3. Alarmed messages: This is will be like the USP of plus, a two-way system of reminder messages where you can make a message
a reminder for the future, for example, if your colleague asks you to call him at 9 pm, so you can just long press this message and
set it as a reminder for 8:55 pm. So at 8:55 pm, WhatsApp will alarm you with that message being the pop-up notification. This
can also be done by the person sending you the message but only with permission being granted from your end.

Analysis using metrics
Following are the metrics that I’ll use for the analysis of my product:

CLTV CLTV = Average revenue per user*Average customer lifetime

CAC=Sales & marketing spending for a period of time / total # of customers generated
and for a period of time
CAC Higher the value of CLTV-CAC , the better

Churn Churn rate= WhatsApp Plus users lost in a month/Total number of plus users
Freedom to invent
Rate Lower the value of Churn Rate , the better

Convers- Conversion Rate= Number of users switching to WhatsApp plus in a month/Total

ion number of users. Few competitors
Rate Higher the value of Conversion Rate , the better

Expected Revenue
• The plus subscription will start at a minimal cost of a dollar a month, it will contain a limited number alarmed and scheduled
message count per user, similarly, there will be $2, $3, $4 and custom plans for business purposes providing different
packages.

• Since the cost is minimal assuming a 10% initial conversion is rate is conservative, total plus users after an year can be
assumed to be almost 15% , so the revenue for the first year will be around $3bn from the normal user database.

• A major chunk of revenue will be generated through the plus features in the business app, where features like automated
messages and alarms will find a very big use. An increase of upto 30% can be predicted here so around an extra $2bn.

• With time new features will be added to plus, this would been different packages and higher prices, hence increasing revenue

Competitor Analysis
The competitor that we are talking about here is WeChat, a Chinese messaging platform with
1.2bn users and 17.49bn USD revenue in FY 2021.
The reason why WeChat has much higher revenue than WhatsApp is that, unlike WhatsApp,
WeChat has it’s feet in multiple industries. It started off as a simple messaging service just
like WhatsApp but with time and tying up with other platforms like Pinduoduo, JD.com,
DiDi and Meituan, it became a go-to app for most of the Chinese smart phone users.
The commission through these tie-ups and in app purchases boosted the revenue of WeChat ,
hence giving it an upper hand over WhatsApp in terms of revenue.
