• REASONS FOR DOING SPORTS:


◦ If your family forces/ expects you to do sports, for fun, to keep relax

for good mental health

• WHY IS IT GOOD FOR A CHILDREN:


◦ Gives experience, make friends, be team players, how to win/lose, cooperate, get used to
exercising, trust each other, communicate without words, how to be goal-oriented, be
ambitious

• TYPES OF SPORTS:
1. Indoor – outdoor sports:
• Squash2, table tennis, swimming, yoga, dancing, martial arts, hockey, figure
skating, curling, e-sports, weight lifting, boxing, cage fighting, handball,
basketball, gymnastics, water polo
• Skiing (snowboarding, slalom, free-style/ride, ski jump, cross-country3,

1. OLYMPICS – summer, winter


• Every 4 years
• In different countries
• First held in Greece, Olympia 776 BC → lasted 5 days

• In the past rules: competed naked, only men could participate, only men could
watch the Olympics
