Currently 2nd-order ddt is supported for moving meshes but is not reliable for
topology change due to the difficulty in estimating
the old-time and old-old-time properties for a newly created cell and for these estimates to be conservative.
It may be possible to handle topology changes with CrankNicolson accurately but
will require the scheme to be implemented at a higher-level, probably in the solver itself so that the details of the fluxes are known and operator-splitting can be applied.
In order to apply the backward scheme with topology change the Euler scheme would need to be applied to the newly created cells. Some investment will be needed for these developments.
