III. TIME SIGNALS IN SIMPLE FUTURE:


1. tonight = nanti malam
2. tomorrow = besok
3. later = nanti
4. next Saturday = Sabtu depan
5. next week = minggu depan
6. next month = bulan depan
7. next year = tahun depan
8. two days later = 2 hari lagi
9. four months later = 4 bulan lagi
10. two years later = 2 tahun lagi

V. PATTERNS:
1. Using “shall/will”
a. Nominal Sentences:
1. Positive sentences:
I/We shall
be complement
Subjects will
Examples:
1. I shall be a professional civil engineer in the future.
= Aku akan menjadi seorang insinyur sipil profesional di masa yang
akan datang.
2. Civil engineering will be very important in the development of our
country.
= Teknik sipil akan sangat penting dalam pembangunan negara
kita.

I/We shall not/shan’t
be complement
Subjects will not/won’t
Examples:
1. We shall not be disappointed to choose civil engineer as a profession.
= Kita tidak akan kecewa memilih insinyur sipil sebagai sebuah
profesi.
2. You will not be a good civil engineer without honesty, discipline,
responsibility, and hard work.
= Kamu tidak akan menjadi seorang insinyur sipil yang bagus tanpa
kejujuran, kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, dan kerja keras.

3. Interrogative sentences:

Examples:
1. Shall we be guest speakers at the seminar about construction
designs?
= Apakah kita akan menjadi pembicara tamu pada seminar
tentang desain bangunan tersebut?
2. Will the senior engineers be on the building site tomorrow?
= Apakah para insinyur senior akan berada di lokasi bangunan
besok?

b. Verbal Sentences:
1. Positive sentences:

Examples:
1. We shall build a new dam on the slope of the mountain.
= Kami akan membangun bendungan baru di lereng gunung.
2. Civil engineering will cover all aspects in the construction of public
facilities.
= Teknik sipil akan mencakup semua aspek dalam pembangunan
fasilitas – fasilitas umum.

2. Negative sentences:
I/We shall not/shan’t

Examples:
1. I shan’t design a usual skyscraper for my next project.
= Aku tidak akan merancang sebuah pencakar langit biasa untuk
proyekku berikutnya.
2. Professional civil engineers will not devastate the existence of
natural environment around the construction sites.
= Para insinyur sipil profesional tidak akan merusak keberadaan
lingkungan alam di sekitar lokasi pembangunan.

= Apakah kita akan ikut lelang pembangunan jalur pipa bawah

badai Irma yang belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya di Amerika
Serikat?

2. Using “to be 1 + going to”


a. Nominal Sentences:
1. Positive sentences:
I am
You/We/They/Plural are going to be complement
He/She/It/Singular is
Examples:
1. I am going to be an inventive civil engineer in the future.
= Aku akan menjadi seorang insinyur sipil berdaya cipta di masa
yang akan datang.
2. As one of civil engineering graduates, you are going to be responsible
for maintaining society’s infrastructure.
= Sebagai salah satu lulusan teknik sipil, kamu akan bertanggung
jawab untuk merawat prasarana milik masyarakat.

2. Negative sentences:
I am
You/We/They/Plural are not going to be complement
He/She/It/Singular is
Examples:
1. We are not going to be in the reservoir construction site tomorrow.
= Kita tidak akan berada di tempat pembangunan waduk besok.
2. You are not going to be qualified as a professional civil engineer
without a bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
= Kamu tidak akan memenuhi syarat sebagai seorang insinyur sipil
yang profesional tanpa gelar sarjana dari program yang
terakreditasi.

3. Interrogative sentences:
Are you/we/they/plural
going to be complement?
Is he/she/it/singular
Examples:
1. Are you going to be at the seminar about construction designs?
= Apakah kita akan berada di seminar tentang desain bangunan
tersebut?
2. Is the the mastery of CAD programs going to be mandatory for all
civil engineering students next year?
= Apakah penguasaan program CAD akan bersifat wajib bagi
seluruh mahasiswa teknik sipil tahun depan?

b. Verbal Sentences:
1. Positive sentences:

He/She/It/Singular is
Examples:
1. I am going to dredge the slope of the mountain to construct a new
road.

= Aku akan mengeruk lereng gunung untuk membangun jalan
baru.
2. Our company is going to pay off all budget for the construction of
public facilities.
= Perusahaan kami akan melunasi semua anggaran untuk
pembangunan fasilitas – fasilitas umum.

2. Negative sentences:
I am
You/We/They/Plural are not going to verb 1 object
He/She/It/Singular is
Examples:
1. I am not going to sign a contract of an aqueduct construction for my
next project.
= Aku tidak akan menandatangani sebuah kontrak pembangunan
sebuah terowongan air untuk proyekku berikutnya.
2. They are not going to ignore the existence of local wisdom in
conducting the construction process.
= Mereka tidak akan mengabaikan keberadaan kearifan lokal
dalam menjalankan proses pembangunan.

3. Interrogative sentences:
Are you/we/they/plural
going to verb 1 object?
Is he/she/it/singular
Examples:
1. Is your manager going to propose an offer of the electric power
plantation construction?
= Apakah manajermu akan mengajukan penawaran
pembangunan pembangkit listrik?
2. Are the engineers going to examine the strength of the bridge
foundation?
= Apakah para insinyur akan menguji kekuatan dari pondasi
jembatan?
